D Milla Music

Created through words by music, Milla finally graces the pop, hip-hop, and R&B scene after much anticipation. Born in East Palo Alto Ca., once the murder capitol of the nation, his dreams of becoming a Music Mogul played as his sword and shield through an era of drugs and violence. “I set my goals as high as heaven, and I made it out of hell” he exclaims. Discovering poetry at the age of 6 meant discovering his way out. Soon after at the age of 12 he began writing and performing his own original songs.

Now at 23, Milla has become a master songwriter with a catalogue of over 1,000 songs in every popular genre form, and the mind-blowing ability to freestyle entire songs without the stroke of a pen. He has worked with such Hip-hop household names as E-40 and Freeway on their current album and mix-tape endeavors. In fact, during the first meeting that Milla and the legendary E-40 had, after just 1 hour E-40 stated, “ I like this dude, he reminds me of family, and he definitely knows his music”. Milla has also become a local “Hook Guru” in the Bay Area, working with local legends such as Dem Hoodstars, Tha Outfit, Matt Blaque, Big Omeezy, Magnolia Chop, Jeffro, Keak da Sneak, and the list goes on.

But if you get this man confused as merely a songwriter, you have done both him as well as yourself a great disservice. Milla’s style of performing along with his ability to sing and rap with a classic mixture of melody and word play is best described as remarkable. Standing 6 foot 5 inches tall he conquers any stage performance with a remarkable strength, but he lets his charm lead the way. “Full of Finesse”, and “The Whole Damn Party”, are phrases his close friends easily use to describe him, and he translates this attitude throughout his music catalogue. “ I want people to listen to my music in the club and feel like they’re apart of the climax of their favorite movie, you know that feeling of I never want this moment to end. I’m not satisfied with a song until I can provide that aura”. Milla looks up to Michael Jackson, Bono, Bruce Springstein, James Brown, and Tupac Shakur as his greatest musical influences.

His college education exhibits his dedication for self-progression, and he is extremely passionate about the business of music. But Milla is most passionate about effecting lives through his music. He explains an encounter he had when he was young,“ An old teacher once told me when you record a song, imagine that mic is hooked up to every ear in the world, now what would you want them to hear? That stuck with me forever.” His personality as an intelligent leader, and friend in the hood, the suburbs, and the business world equips him with the tools needed to relate, communicate, and influence people of all demographics. Milla’s musical influence in his community is proven greater every day as he is called to consult at countless studios seeking the touch of an icon. You name it he can do it, and if you asked him if he could he would simply say “I’m Milla”.
