Wickid

The one they call "Wickid", was born Zachary Clyde Sikes in 1986 in Brownwood, a small, quiet Texan town. From day one, he has had a love for music and has been into it since he was a child. At the age 11 his late father purchased him a guitar as a gift for Christmas. That is when his love for music truly began to flourish. It was from that moment on he knew he was meant to be involved in making music one way or another.



Several years later his good friend, Dion, introduced him to, what would soon become the life path he would choose to follow. EDM. Being that they both grew up in such a small city, they were the only kids in their town that listened to electronic dance music. He and Dion would rock out to artists by the likes of Oakenfold, Dieselboy, Roni size and of course the ever so popular, Prodigy.



It wasn't until 2000, that his cousin came to visit him and brought with him a Planet Of The Drums mix from 1999, the genre that would inevitably become the love of his life. Drum and Bass. When he heard dnb he "thought that was it!" This was the style he had been looking for! For a lack of better words. His home. He was always different than the rest and dnb was just that! The two just seemed to fit each other so well it was love at first drop!



In 2005, he began djing. His biggest influences quickly became Andy C and Friction. He would listen and study them for hours. As he said, "They just know how to rinse out like no other!" After quickly progressing behind the wheels of steel, and due to the musical influence of Dj Fresh, Zack tried his hands at production with a PS2 game he had purchased. The tunes he came up with he thought to himself, "Were wicked!" Hense, the dj moniker was born. He chose to get into producing seriously because he, " Wanted to have my own sound and set myself apart from being just another DJ".



As much as dnb is his first and last love.His musical horizon is not just limited to the one genre. He enjoys breaks, dubstep and experiments with many other forms of music as well.



He now resides in Cedar Hill and is currently working with a couple other local producers on several projects and playing some of Dallas' hottest Drum & Bass spots!
