DJ Wade Hoffman was raised in Oil City, Pennsylvania. His love for music has always been apparent to those who know him. He has spent his life surrounding himself with music. Whether singing in a choir, playing an instrument in a band or writing and producing his own songs, music is as essential to Wade as the air he breathes. The stages of his life are not marked by years and months rather by the music that he used to celebrate, mourn or cope with life’s problems.

Coming from a town that had one radio station, which played only country music, Wade did all he could to consume MTV, VH-1 and the newest rage in dance music, remixes. Remixing was just hitting the mainstream American through maxi-single cassettes. Wade’s collection of cassette singles would have a huge impact on his life. Artists like Prince, Salt n Pepa, Techno-tronic and Information Society filled his every possible waking hour away from school.

In 1992 he graduated from high school and moved to Erie, Pennsylvania. He became friends with club DJ, Joe Szymzack. Joe was the house resident at Lizzy Borden’s Part 2, Erie’s hottest gay club. Joe showed him some of the ideals but Wade never picked it up and ran with it.

In 1995 Wade moved to Ft. Lauderdale. He immediately embraced the South Florida club scene and lifestyle. One Sunday night at Anthem @ Crobar, Miami, he was introduced to the mixing style and music selection of DJ / Producer, Peter Rauhofer. After spending six hours on the dance floor, he knew it was time to pursue his dream. He began buying 12”, vinyl records of his favorite club songs, 4 months before he bought his mixer and turntables. He was then taught to mix by ex-boyfriend, Richard Corvin, a retired Buffalo Dj. Richard taught him the basics and became a mentor and huge influence on Wade’s present style and music selection.

His style differs from most gay club DJ’s in the fact that he uses more then one genre of music. High – energy, progressive, tribal and house are all to be expected in a night with Wade. He has even been known to slap a break beat track in to evolve his set or just to keep the crowd guessing. Wade’s long overlaps and precise EQ skills make him a breath of fresh air on the South Florida club scene.

In late 2004 he went to work under John Alvarado, at The Jackhammer, Ft. Lauderdale. He and John played Friday nights including, New Years Eve 2005. They also worked together for an exclusive night at Club Torpedo After-hours.

The next step on the ladder for Wade was a step out on his own. He created a Sunday T party for Stonewall Street Festival 2006 in Ft. Lauderdale. He took on the hat of party promoter as well as Dj. He shared the booth with Dj/Producer Mike Mucci (Owner of Amplitude Recordings, Released tracks as Evolved and is Writer/ Producer of “The Door” and “Jonesing”). Wade decided to excuse the tired disco T and make it as a late 80’s and early 90’s house night. The turnout was great and the crowd really responded to the special guest performances by Michael M. (“The Beat” and “Dear Diary), Formula Redux (“Silver” and “Subliminal Suicide”) and Misty Eyez. More parties are to be conceived, promoted and realized under the moniker, That Damn Monkey Productions, which is also the name of Wade’s independent label that will be releasing his tracks and remixes.

Wade is currently in the studio working on his next track, "I Feel You Creepin' "and a remix of "There Is Only One" - Alan T. and Lula
