Born in PR in 1978, and raised in California until his early teens, DjTito has accomplished many things throughout his career as a Dj. He began to Dj with Hip-hop at an early age of 15 with inspiration from local Bay Area radio mix Djs such as 106 KMELs Glenn Aure, and movies like Juice in which the Dj was the main focus. DjTito quickly began to understand the concepts of mixing through the help of a friends father, Dj Dante, who happened to be a local club Dj at the time. He taught Tito how to listen for breaks on songs, find beats per minutes, and the importance of being able to mix in general. Soon after his start, DjTito moved with his family back to Loiza, PR were he got his first taste of Underground which would be later known as Reggaeton. Day after day, you could hear the Dembow and Hiphop music blasting from his bedroom windows as he worked to polish his skills as a Dj. The kids from the neighborhood would gather around and sit just outside the window to listen. Eventually Tito got invited to Dj a local Underground Reggaeton/Rap competition and from that first event, he quickly gained status and soon after was well known around Loiza for his Underground parties. The likes of Hornyman, Original Q, Los Maliantes, and Las Guanabanas Podrias which are all pioneers to the Reggaeton game, were artists that performed at various DjTito's parties by surprise appearances. Ironically Tito's experience is not his only ties to Reggaeton as he is also cousin to Dj Goldy who was Tito and Hector's primary producer while they were still a duo, and also cousin to Dj Joel (Playmakers) from Loiza who is currently one of the resident djs at the famous Reggaeton club The Noise in PR.
Loiza was a great place, but there were too many violent crimes occurring on a regular basis, and after graduating High School, DjTito joined the military. He was sent to Texas, Oklahoma, and finally Alaska. In Alaska, Tito took what he had learned about music in all the various places he had been too, and applied it to his radio show Urban Beats which he hosted with fellow dj, Dj Alonzo on KRUA 88.1fm. With a variety of music knowledge in the areas of Reggaeton, Hip-hop, RB, and Dancehall, the show quickly became a hit. He later received awards for volunteer of the year, and best new show. Due to his rising popularity, he was asked to Dj several clubs and events such as opening up for Naughty by Nature, and Djing on stage with BadBoy recording artists 112. With his new found success, Tito decided to expand by exposing his work via his website DjTito.com to the world in 1999. At around the same time he finished his first mixtape which gained him status as Dj of the month for several months, for an online community of over thousands of Djs, formerly known as Fromdj.com. The mix attracted the attention of many people, one of which was DjVlad, who at the time actually contacted Tito to talk about doing collabos. Unfortunately due to his military commitment, DjTito could not take advantage of the situation. In late 2004 the hit songs Oye Mi Canto, and Gasolina opened the doors for many Reggaeton artists as well as Djs to crossover into the US mainstream. With the knowledge and experience that Tito gained over the years of being involved with Reggaeton and actually being an active part since the start, he was put well into the drivers seat. DjTito was also part of the label Wu Latino until the summer of 08 and continues to grow and represent the dj squad he put together, The NeedleBreakers aka Los RompeAgujas. He currently continues his journey and where ever he spins he rocks the crowds being able to play through 15 years worth of Reggaeton music which captivates his audience as he exposes them to music they've never heard and focuses on exposing the fact that Reggaeton is not as pop and watered down as those who are new to the genre are making it out to be. His time and dedication to a genre of music which at one time, only a limited amount of people had heard of had finally began to pay off. Titos remixes, mixes, and original material has caught international attention via the internet, and he is quickly becoming one of the next highly acclaimed Reggaeton Dj/Producers.
