From his humble Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York beginnings to his current Northeastern College circuit tour DJ Spider has advanced to the forefront of the New York City party and club scene. Spider has an unprecedented ability to transcend the energy of any atmosphere which he and his turntables touch. A Midas touch, to say the least. He is a Universal DJ that can transition smoothly from Hip Hop to Reggae and any other musical genre he finds suiting for a world which he is in complete control over. He has conquered the New York City nightclub circuit with coolness unmatched in the world of professional disc jockeys. DJ Spider is the current College Club King/DaUnion DJ and dually New York City's very own, Urban Legend.
Born with an amazing ability to understand music, DJ Spider has evolved into much more than a disc jockey or an entertainer. He has honed his skills and is also an accomplished producer. DJ Spider has shared his spotlight by giving opportunity to unsigned artists through mix tape features and sound production; always giving audiences foresight into the destiny of music.
DJ Spider has extended his influence as a DJ on the mix tape scene, releasing countless mixes that have held DJ Spider in high demand. With a heavy distribution pattern that spans most of New York City, DJ Spider has carved a serious whole in the market place for his musical mix tapes. Selling out constantly, DJ Spider mix tapes are deemed street classics.
As a promoter, DJ Spider, dubbed the business man, has packed out local clubs throughout New York City, and coordinated successful events that have marked him as a threat both on and off the turntables.
With a seemingly effortless durability, DJ Spider plays a majority of his events solo from beginning to their climatic end. His cut-mastery is relentless as he weaves his mysterious web keeping energy levels on a constant rise as the crowd remains entranced throughout his performance leaving them wondering, "How does he do it?" And just when you think the momentum has reached its climatic point and the party has nothing else to offer, he comes back hitting you with hit record after hit record before following up by completely flipping the energy, taking you back, rejuvenating the crowd with their favorite old school jams; a classic display of artistry matched by few in his genre. One young lady proclaimed his style of dj'ing as, "Erotic." He starts off slow then gradually builds up; taking you to the point of ecstasy; it's almost climatic. Then when you think it's over and you feel you've been satisfied, he comes back; taking you to a level of excitement that you never thought you could reach. It's absolutely orgasmic!"
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he came to the realization of his love of music at the age of 13 while watching his cousin Barry playing the piano, also later being given a guitar by his late father, Haskell Greenidge Senior.
Watching his brother-in-law, Lenny Adams created an undying and passionate fascination with the turntables and the art of mixing inspiring him to form a sound system with his friends; known locally as the Black Vibes Movement. The sound began by playing at various High Schools and birthday parties in the neighborhood. But their reputation quickly grew. Within a few years their name began spreading like wildfire through the Brooklyn area as one its premiere sound systems. Disagreements and misunderstandings eventually led to break up of the Black Vibes Movement, but the legacy of DJ Spider would not be curtailed, as he channeled his energies, surpassing the expectations of most of his closest friends and family members.
At age 26, he gained a reputation of being one of the most versatile DJ's in New York City. With the ability to play multiple genres of music, such as hip-hop, R&B, Reggae, Reggaeton, Soca, House, and Techno, DJ Spider lived up to the reputation and the title bestowed upon him, The Business Man. He soon developed a love for working with different talents and started dabbling in production, realizing that music was more than just mixing records. There was a whole other side to be explored and he wanted in.
The story of this amazing young talent from Brooklyn, New York continues to unfold. Each day the DJ extraordinaire and Super-Producer continues to astonish all of his faithful followers. DJ Spider leaves each scene he performs with a sense of awe and amazement, his audience is happy, faces lit up in elation. making it easy for any onlooker to see that they have just had the time of their lives, leaving them yearning for more. If you listen closely enough, you can hear the people whispering and gossiping, "When's the next party; where's the next party?"
