DJ SHIEK

i remember actually starting out djing about 7 yrs old on the SEE and SAYS.(LOL) back in the day when 1580 kday with greg mack and nwa was running the west coast and x-clan public enemy epmd grand puba dela soul. i officially started djing in 98 with this cat name kuwaku boah aka fatman black i dont know what he calls himself today but him and dj greg from alabama taught me to spin. greg from the south and black from new york. thats when i fell into the crunk music. being in the army was funny because everyone would rep where they were from and me being an up and coming dj was tired of cats beatin up on each other in the clubs and hatin. i would just always imagine if i ever came up in the music biz i would put out music for everyone. i didnt wanna sound like this producer or that producer. i want people to say shiek is from cali puttin out crunk music yeah right he doesnt know about south music. when i got out the army in 03 i started djing at house parties and hooked up with some friends from the army that were from california and that gave me my first opportunity to learn a lil bit of inside the game of music. hooked up with this mc from the i.e. california homeless nation named alfila or fila. he was promoting doing his thing and he gave me my first club gig. i told him i would do it for free. i just wanted to get in and get it done. we had some great nights. i then met dj avalanch and we both were competitive djs when we first met and then we just clicked to dj the next couple of years with him and the rest of the mixfresh dj's. i continued to dj at several clubs in the inland empire area and was doing private parties on the weekends. i was givin an opportunity to dj a couple of mixes on 99.1 kggi in california but unfortunately that was my last weekend the in california before i joined the army again. im still dj making mixed tapes and producing. i will be in california in august of 08 to visit family promote and do a photoshoot for my website im starting.
