DJ Shaolin (Dallas, TX.)
Shaolin was born in the state of Louisiana but migrated with his parents to Texas back in 1988. Music has always been a big part of his life and has influenced him in many ways. He started messing around on the keyboards at an early age of 11 and his love for electronic music started with the forefathers of breaks, Afrika Bambaata, Kraftwork, Egyptian Lover, and Nucleus! Some of you may be to young to know the names but thats were it all began for Shaolin.
His love to produce and his love to dance along with entertaining people is what got him into djing. Never really wanting to be a dj, he stepped behind a pair of technic 1200s in the winter of 1996, he couldn't match a beat to save his life, and all of a sudden there it was. two tracks riding seamlessly for about 3 mins straight! From that moment on Shaolin was sold on the art of djing and vowed to become one of the greats!
Shaolin originally started off producing and spinning breakbeats, that�s his number one passion! But He also has a love for other genre�s that ranges from House, Electro, Trance, Rock, Alternative Rock, Pop, Hip Hop and simply anything that moves him! Shaolin believes music is life and its been around since the beginning of time and will always be in the hearts of many! He currently specializes in Electro but producing breaks is like Riding a Bike, you never forget so be sure to look out for his upcoming breakbeat tracks shortly following his full length album.
Shaolin has recently teamed up with Legend DJ Magic Mike to form an elite record label and group, ELEKTRO AKTIVE! Dedicated to producing some of the best Electro and Breaks this country has to offer. Shaolin has played on bills with the likes of many different djs that play many different genre�s, DJ Magic Mike, Wolfgang Gartner, Deadmau5, Kill the Noise, Richard Vission, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Craze, Mixmaster Mike, BT, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyke, Paul Oakenfold, Benny Benassi, Armin Van Buuren, ATB, Carl Cox, Infected Mushroom, Charles Feelgood, Felix Da Housecat, Starkillers, Cosmic Gate, Above & Beyond, DJ Irene, DJ Sharaz, and of course DJ Icey, Baby Anne, Jen Lasher, Utah Saints, and Hybrid just to name a few! Presently You can catch him inside the World Famous Lizard Lounge and Insomnia tearing up the decks most Saturday nights!
Shaolin has hit top of the charts of Beatport and Djdownloads with his anthem track Bitches and Money and Madd Skillz, His current project and Full length album INDIGENOUS TO MUSIC is bound to hit the charts and take the country by storm so stay tuned and look out for all the future remixes soon to come off the album!!
