About:

"Right in the middle of Europe there lies a post-soviet country where, the East confronts the West and the North challenges the South. At the very mezzo of this country is the city of Warsaw.
Here you will find, side-by-side, a contemporary sky scraper and a post-WWII building baring bullet holes. This is the kind of place where the largest illegal market in Europe has been functioning for the past few decades. You could buy anything from fresh Vietnamese tofu to a Russian AK-47, there.
Growing up in a city where so many influences are gathered in one place, surely leaves a mark as well a certain kind of sensitivity towards music.
Today, managing his time while living in two cities, London and Warsaw, this young producer, dj and graphic designer, known as Sekta, caught the attention of such big-time artists as DJ Touche (aka Fake Blood) and Boy 8-Bit.
When he's not co-promoting and organizing bookings for the Warsaw's most popular club night - Sorry, Ghettoblaster (the guests list includes: Renaissance Man, Riva Starr, Zombie Disco Squad, Sweat X, Congorock, The Bloody Beetroots, Fake Blood, just to mention a few) Sekta works on his productions.
The outcome of his latest efforts is the fresh EP, released by Top Billin records, recorded with Spoek Mathambo, the vocalist of Sweat X and Playdoe. Just like the music styles that have been flooding the dancefloors of the best club nights around the world, the tracks of Sekta and Spoek ooze with an african-heavybass-funky groove. This means steaming hot tribal drums mixed together with digital calimba and massive bass.
The list of artists doing remixes is just as impressive, presenting names such as: Daniel Haaksman, Sharkslayer, Top Billin, Edu K, Dubbel Dutch, Kid Kaio, Julio Bashmore, Camel, Doc Daneeka, Darling Farah and Femme en Fourrure."
"We're not really sure how Warsaw-based producer Sekta and South African MC Spoek Mathambo managed to cross paths, but we're sure glad they did. "Jabajaws," the lead track from the pair's new EP, is full of buzzing bass, kwaito synth flourishes, and enough dirty raps to make your mom blush. Finally, there's a track that electro banger kids and the global bass crowd can enjoy equally. " - XLR8R MAGAZINE
