DJ RYO

I began to DJ in 1997 in Japan.

I listened to many kinds of music & developed love of music at a young age. In 1998, I met DJ DEE who is still my best friend. We hung out together & shared a lot of things like going out to Clubs & Record stores. At the time, I recognized how deep music is & took it seriously to be a professional DJ. I was influenced by DJ STRETCH ARM STRONG, DJ KID CAPRI, PREMIRE & more. When I was 20 years old I met DJ KOYA & started working as his assistant. Later on he gave me opportunities to open up for him. By the influence of DJ KOYA who adores NYC my mind start looking toward club scenes in NYC. I've been to NY & Miami(WMC) several times & I had chances to see DJs & clubs. Those experience made my mind clear & I decided to move to the states. Finally I moved to NYC in 2005. I got a job at ATRIUM which is the hottest clothing store in the city & this was the place I met DJ ERICK LAPEAU. DJ ERICK LAPEAU is one of the greatest & the most respected DJs. I was impressed by his talent & selection & flow at the first time I saw him spinning in Japan. So I am honored to work with him & open up for him in the hottest clubs including MARQUEE, PINK ELEPHANT, LOTUS and so on. He is the one gives me chances & takes care of me. I respect him as a DJ & also as a man. Currently I'm DJing at MARQUEE, HOTEL GANSEVOORT, MANSION (New York), 1OAK & SUZIE WONG.
