BIOGRAPHY
Ferdinando Miranda aka Dj Pandaj is one of the most well known dj & producer of the italian underground scene. He starts his music journey around ten years ago, when Milan begins to melt in a new way and vibe. Dj Pandaj has a sweet tooth for jazz and funk and starts working on it with freshness and a new eye that marks its own way of making music. Dj Pandaj evolves himself around elettronic, soul, cinematic soundscape, and hip hop music, playing in the best and the most important italian and londoner clubs, sharing the stage with the most important musicians of the scene, such as: Roy Ayers, George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Grandmaster Flash, Steinski, Mix Master Mike, RZA, Laurent Garnier, Amon Tobin, Goldie, Dj Cam, Anti Pop Consortium, Dj Krush, Stereo Mc's, Tricky, Gilles Peterson, Cinematic Orchestra, Dj Spooky, Nightmares On Wax, Dj Vadim, Funky Porcini, Aesop Rock, Peanut Butter Wolf, Dj Format, Dj Food & DK and more…
Radio program maker, The Blue Hour, on Lifegate radio station around 2004/07. He works also as a sound designer: he created live sound tracks for Mini BMW, Diesel, 55DSL, Adidas Originals "Sound Of The City", Belfe and Combo. Pandaj has written in collaboration with Cesare Marchese of Mean Records Smemories for Giuseppe Tornatore's new dvd movie La Sconosciuta, and do a remix of Aguas De Parco, first release by Crookers on Big Sur Recordings.



HERCULANEUM:
Dj Pandaj's debut album "Herculaneum" has been digitally released by the Italian indie label Record Kicks. Inspired by Miles Davis's Doo-Bop experimentation, by Dj Krush's abstract zen hip-hop and by Dj Shadow's sampling techniques, "Herculaneum" is an eclectic journey packed with atmospherics, melodies, electronica and sampling, and enriched by prestigious and inspired musical collaborations: Georgeanne Kalweit, the unforgettable voice of Delta V, Esa aka The Funky Prez, Noego Jazzrevolver,Leziero Rescigno (The Dining Rooms and La Crus) , A.Libretti and Ardimann Mc.
Frankie Hi-NRG MC who, on the title track Herculaneum, recites in Latin the first eruption of Vesuvius as documented by Plinio the Younger in 79 A.D.
Herculaneum is the land of origin and inspiration of Dj Pandaj.

Ferdinando Miranda aka Dj Pandaj è uno dei dj/produttori di „culto" della scena underground italiana. Le sue origini si ritrovano una decina di anni fa, quando nuovi suoni invadono Milano. Il suo approccio al dj'ing è caratterizzato da una propensione per le influenze jazz e funk, ferrea volontà e curiosità, unita ad un gusto musicale di gran classe. Pandaj ha evoluto il suo sound tra elettronica, soul, colonne sonore e hip hop, suonando nei miglior club underground italiani e londinesi e dividendo la consolle con alcuni dei più importanti esponenti mondiali della scena come: Roy Ayers, George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Grandmaster Flash, Steinski, Mix Master Mike, RZA, Laurent Garnier, Amon Tobin, Dj Cam, Anti Pop Consortium, Dj Krush, Stereo Mc's, Tricky, Goldie, Gilles Peterson, Cinematic Orchestra, Dj Spooky, Nightmares On Wax, Dj Vadim, Funky Porcini, Aesop Rock, Peanut Butter Wolf, Dj Format, Dj Food & DK e tanti altri ancora….
Vincitore delle selezioni nazionali di Arezzo Wave 2001, curatore del programma radio downtempo ‚the blue hour' per Lifegateradio, sound designer per i brand Mini BMW, Diesel, 55DSL, Adidas Originals "Sound Of The City", Belfe e Combo, compone a quattro mani con Cesare Marchese (Mean Records) il brano Smemories incluso nel dvd del film di Giuseppe Tornatore „La sconosciuta" e remixa "Aguas De Parco", singolo d'esordio dei Crookers, stampato su Big Sur Recordings.
Nel 2008 Dj Pandaj diventa collaboratore ufficiale di Frankie Hi Nrg Mc, accompagnandolo ai piatti in alcune delle manifestazioni musicali italiane più importanti
Nel 2010 Pandaj in veste di dj e producer accompagna dal vivo Roy Paci e gli Aretuska al Concerto Del Primo Maggio e Parla Con Me su Rai 2



HERCULANEUM:
Dj Pandaj ha pubblicato in digitale con la indie label italiana Record Kicks l'album d'esordio "Herculaneum", ispirato dalle sperimentazioni di Doo-Bop di Miles Davis, lo zen abstract hip hop di Dj Krush e la tecnica di campionamento alla Dj Shadow.
