DJ Munro is no stranger to the turntables. Over the last decade he has been busy working the clubs and spinning over the airwaves. He has also made a name for himself as a producer/re-mixer with many high profile credits including Destiny's Child, Janet Jackson, Beverley Knight, Jamelia and the new all girl group, Sirens.

Munro was 12 when he caught the DJ Bug. A young kid off to the cinema with his friends to see a film called Beat Street. This film would change his life forever! The movie included Break Dancing, Grafitti and DJ's. Initially Munro became a break dancer and rose to quite a high level, competing around the country with the UK's best crews and hooking up with the New York City Breakers. Then, with break dancing fading he moved into being a DJ. Being influenced from dj's/producers such as Quincy Jones, Arthur Baker, Stesh and the legendary Tiffany's night club (saturday Afternoons have never been the same) in Newcastle he witnessed how a DJ could rock the clubs and this was his new goal.

Unlike most of his other friends who wanted to be hip hop turntablists, Munro was more interested in what was then known as Swing beat. He soon got gigs in local clubs and as a presenter on commercial radio stations. He now began his journey to becoming a leader in this field. Munro's love of music lead him into music production and he discovered a singer called Tunde who later became famous as the singer of the Lighthouse Family.

Soon Munro was an "in-demand" DJ and performed for many famous artists such as Lauryn Hill and Destiny's Child. He was also able to DJ across Europe and spent many summer months hotting up holiday makers in some of the most renowned European night spots. DJ Munro pushes on to bring his own unique style of hip hop/ RnB club nights/radio shows worldwide and produce/remix for all the big guns in the industry. Check out the Beverley Knight release "Affirmation" where he co-wrote and produced the song "Salvador" and also produced "Fatal Factor".
