DJ MP

DJ MP aka Mikey Yayo was born in Queens, New York. Starting at an early age in Queens, DJ MP fell in love with everything hip hop. It wasn't until years later when he moved to Tampa, Florida, did he decide to get into the art of DJing. He is quoted as saying, "I grew up listening to rap music, in I think it was second or third grade, I remember walking to the record store and buying Redman's first album on cassette and being happy that the lady at the shop didn't give me any crap about buying it. Ya know, since it had the parental advisory sticker on it *laughs*. From then on every week I was going to the store and copping cassettes. So making the transition into DJing later on in life was an easy one for me." DJ MP still currently resides in Tampa, Florida. During his time here, he has worked with many of the up and coming talent from the bay area. He's also opened up for some big names in the industry. The artists he's opened up for who stand out include names such as T-Pain, Chamillionaire, Young Joc, Sean Kingston, etc. He is currently working with a label out of the same area, called Red Carpet Entertainment. With plans to drop a lot of fire in 2009, it should be a big year for DJ MP aka Mikey Yayo.
