BIOAt 19 years old, it was obvious that Jason Guillory had a knack for mixing beats, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that the industry began to take notice, coining him as San Diego’s one-and-only, DJ G*Roy. As one of the leading house and hip-hop turntablists in Southern California, G*Roy has built himself quite the resume. Past residencies include San Diego’s finest nightlife destinations: Stingaree, Confidential and Sidebar. He has been named “Editor’s Choice” and “Best DJ To Watch Out For” in the 2005 and 2006 944 Magazine Platinum Awards, respectively, and most recently won the prestigious Favorite DJ award for 2008. G-roy produces a late-night radio show every Saturday on San Diego’s Channel’s 93.3; and has worked with some of the largest DJ masterminds in the world including Tiesto, DJ AM, Mix Master Mike, Ferry Corsten, Charles Feelgood, Bad Boy Bill, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan and Grandmaster Flash.

DJ G-roy has risen through the ranks in San Diego and has been traveling to more and more cities spreading his unique blend of house and hip hop music. He currently plays 2 weekly residencies in San Diego: The Fleetwood on Thursdays (thefleetwood.com) and Eden at the Ivy Hotel (envysandiego.com) on Saturdays. Tabu in Las Vegas has also signed him on as a monthly resident for their popular Monday night Rok Box (www.mgmgrand.com/nightlife/tabu-ultra-lounge.aspx). His schedule is filled with San Diego hotspots and notable out of town clubs including Les Deux in Los Angeles, Fluid in San Francisco, and Spybar in Chicago.

Jason also takes time from his busy schedule to run Fortune Music. A house record label supported by Fortune Industries (fortune421.com), and anchored by himself and Theron Hunt. With close to fifteen releases in 2 years, a compilation CD by Lavelle Dupree, and another compilation CD mixed by Scotty Boy due out this year, Fortune Music is scratching the surface on what is come!

"With Rane's Serato, there's a lot of microwave DJ's out there with MP3's. But Serato is, to me, something you have to earn. I'm like "have you dug in the crates? Do you have at least 2,000 records? Did you ever have to carry all your speakers and crates to a gig?" If you have, then you can graduate to Serato. Here's your medal." - DJ Premier on Scratch Magazine
