Born Feb. 28, 1984, DJ Griffel the second oldest of six kids from a modest Irish family in the suburbs of Hewitt, New Jersey, started to mix music senior year in high school. Upon graduating high school in June 2002, he started to remix songs using mixing software Fruity Loops in a studio with a DJ Shannahan of NJNIGHTLIFE.COM.
