BIO

'DJ Fusion' 1st realised that music would be his future career when he was just 15 years old, in his last year of school. He was given a pair of technics belt drive turntables and a gemini mixer. Begining with simply learning how to mix 'Drum & Bass' music, he then stumbled among the 'UKG' genre. 1st listening to the sounds of 'DJ Luck & MC Neat', 'Artful Dodger' Ft. 'Craig David' - 'Rewind' & 'DJ Pied Piper' - 'Do You Really Like It', then moving quickly into the more dirty style of 'UKG' such as 'Genius Cru', 'Pay As You Go Carte'l, 'So Solid Crew' & 'Dizzee Rascal', which was more of his type as he had just moved from dark 'Drum & Bass'.

After around 3 months of listening & bedroom mixing 'UKG', he then was given a DJ slot at his local youth night where he then developed his skills greatly, aswell as making a few contacts in the Manchester 'UKG' scene such as 'Mayhem Crew', 'LMC', 'Touch Of Class', 'MKI', 'Hit Em' Up Squad', 'Zero Tolerance' & more. By this time the style of dirty 'UKG' had been changed to a style called 'Grime' which was basically 'UKG' but with more vocal mc's on most tracks. So to get his name around Manchester alot quicker, 'DJ Fusion' got himself hold of his own PC, and a copy of a a music production tool named 'Fruityloop Pro XXL'. Learning on his own, he gradually started to pick up the programme and put some instrumentals out to vocal mc's around Manchester which they vocalled, although the dubs he was making wern't really up to scratch with other tunes that were out there, being played.

Now, aswell as being a DJ/Producer, he had now basically worked with most of Manchester's biggest artists/DJ's/producer's in some way, shape or form. He had realised how big the Grime scene in Manchester was, and how many fans there also were listening to his and others music. So he had an idea of creating Manchesters 1st DVD/CD Compilation dedicated to scene, and started creating it immediately.

When he turned 16 in summer 2006, 'DJ Fusion' had built a small reputation in Manchester, for being a 'one-to-watch' DJ in the near future, so to keep the ball rolling, in september 2006, 'DJ Fusion' decided to enroll at the 'Manchester Music Base' to study music production. From here, 'Fruityloop' was scrapped and he moved onto more advanced programmes which he is still using at present named ' Reason', 'Cubase sx3' & 'Recycle'. At first he was completely lost, but after a few weeks, he was workin well with the programmes producing good standard music and passing his assignment briefs with flying colours. Novemeber 2006, was a huge month for him, as now all the filiming, editing, printing and pressing of the DVD/CD he had made was finally finshed, and entitled 'Mani Talent'. The hype was built around the release for many months and when it was, it sold like hot cakes, even selling in Birmingham, London, Coventry & Gloucster. With the royalties from the release, he took his music college's advise and invested in his own personal studio setup enabling his skills to reach a whole next level, which has got him to where he is today.

Joining the college in November however became to be one of the best decisions he had yet made for himself for his music career as he soon found out that Manchester's number one for urban music, radio station, 'Unity Radio', was just on the next floor of his college complex. Sharpish, he then wrote up a small bio, along with his future plans for his career and a copy of his latest release, and approached 'Unity Radio'. In December, he then recieved the call with the news that he has been offered a show on the radio station. Which can now be listend to, 'Monday nights, 10pm - 12am via WWW.UNITYRADIO.FM & . fm'.

Since then, his name gradually spread around the UK and his fan base widend to many different areas, especially when he was getting bookings with some of the biggest artists in 'Grime' such as 'Tinchy Stryder', 'Ghetto', 'Devlin', ('Shifty, Slayer & Blizzard') & many more. Also, turning the DVD/CD compilation 'Mani Talent' into a new indie label, recruiting the finest artists, producers, mc's and DJ's from the Manchester area in order to build them the same repuatation and fan base that 'DJ Fusion' has helped him greatly. He is also regulary listened to by people in Canada, America, Slovakia and Belgium. Remember, this is just his 'Grime' genre, which now brings us to the next topic.

In March 2007, he was happy with his new rep, radio show, fan base, and small income from selling mix cd's, instrumentals, specials etc. However, he wasn't getting enough DJ gigs, which is his best skill. After speaking to some fellow 'Grime' artists, he realised that now 'Grime' had changed from 'UKG', it wasnt as commercial, therefore, the reason why he had no bookings was because of the simple fact that there wasnt any 'Grime' events, especially in Manchester. So he searched for the nearest genre's, with almost the same fan base.

In April 2007, he became hooked on two genre's named ('4x4/Bassline') & ('Dubstep'). Both extreme bass driven styles which gave him the same feeling as when he listend to 'Drum & Bass'. As DJ Fusion began to move into the scene, he realised that he could get most of his 'Dubstep' on vinyl and exclusive mp3's from Manchester based producers, as they have already heared about this DJ. But '4x4/Bassline', was very different. It seemed like a whole new world to him, as there was not much vinyl out at the time, especially in Manchester. He was given exclusive tunes to play from Manchester producers he was feeling at the time such as, 'DJ Murkz', 'Subzero', 'Furbalistic', 'Hazie', '24k' & more. However, tunes were not being sent from producers outside Manchester although 'DJ Fusion' was on radio, played out often and had a small fan base. After getting advise from some of the other DJ's in the scene, he was told '4x4/Bassline' is much of a produce and exchange scene, unless your name was already big at the time such as 'DJ Q', 'Shaun Banger Scott', 'DJ Apostle' & 'Jamie Duggan'. So he began producing '4x4/bassline'.

A few months finshing about 8 full tracks, and recieving feedback from other producers, 'DJ Fusion' finally began to produce tunes that were standing up with other tunes that were being played often. Soon after, he began to recieve tunes on a regular basis and has now had '4x4/bassline' & 'dubstep' bookings in many clubs throughout the north west on a weekly basis.

Since, his reputation has grown in all 3 genres, as he still plays 'Grime' on his radio show in between the '4x4/bassline' & 'dubstep' and he now is producing '4x4/bassline' full time, aswell as 'Grime'/'Dubstep' to order. In December 2007, he signed off his 1st deal with 'Kronik Music', entitled 'Slada' EP at just the age of 17. He is also now part of an indie '4x4/bassline' DJ/production label entitled 'Nitebreed Basslines', managed by 'DJ Nay Nay'. (A well established name in the 4x4/bassline scene). Currently, 'DJ Fusion' is working some major music, including tracks to be released with 'Rubi Dan' entitled 'One Dutty Wine' also due to be released on the 'Kronik Music' label, aswell as remix work for artists such as 'Genius Cru', 'Shystie' and 'Fireworkz'. Watch out for 'DJ Fusion' in 2008 !!!
