From his early days practicing daily in his basement in New York to becoming a Los Angeles radio legend, DJ Enrie has definitely earned the respect and admiration of all those who have listened to him. Never being pigeon held into one genre of music, Enrie’s ability to mix everything from hip hop to house to R&B to 80’s to whatever else you can imagine has made him one of the most versatile DJ’s in the world. The simple drop “DJ Ennnnriie” immediately ignites an unexplainable feeling; takes you back to junior high, high school, college, or wherever you were at that moment in time, and consequently puts a smile on your face. Not many people can say they have this effect on people, but DJ Enrie can.

Enrie started his dream of becoming a DJ back in 1984 in Queens, New York. He saved up enough money from a summer job, bought his own turntables and mixer, and got to it; practicing every day after school. Being a young kid, listening to a variety of genres of music like Marley Marl & Red Alert (hip hop), Scotty Blackwell & Lil Louie Vega (house) on the radio gave him the inspiration to pursue his dream.

In 1987, Enrie moved to Los Angeles and immediately started working the club circuit. In 1992, he landed a gig at the American Record Pool and received the opportunity to mix on LA radio station Power 106 alongside DJ legends Richard Humpty Vision and Tony B. Once his mix hit the airwaves he was hired almost immediately and eventually landed the spot mixing for the infamous “Saturday Night Street Party” (7pm-midnight).

In 1994, Enrie was given the opportunity to mix for the “Power Workout” on Power 106 (Monday thru Friday 12pm-1pm). Anyone who was around at that time will tell you that the “Power Workout” was and always will be the most listened to mixshow in Los Angeles history. Over 1 million people tuned in everyday to check out Enrie’s flawless mixes. Enrie was a pioneer; bringing house music to the mainstream in Los Angeles by breaking records like Bucketheads, Planet Soul, and Robin S. During this time Enrie released a series of mix CD’s. His first mix CD “Work It” sold over 100,000 copies. As each album was released, his popularity grew nationwide. This enabled Enrie to tour across the country weekly. Pretty good for a kid from Queens with a dream right?

In 1999, Enrie did the unimaginable; something that only few people in this world can say they have done. He set a Guinness Book of World Records for mixing 44 hours straight on Hollywood Blvd. Unfortunately, because of the huge crowd that had gathered to partake in this momentous event, he was forced by the police to shut down.

In 2005, Enrie veered off onto another venture; television. He hosted and produced a video mix show on LATV (KJLA Los Angeles) called “Bump Dat.” Later that year he started his own company "www.my12inch.com". My12inch.com is currently the largest digital music pool servicing mp3’s and video to DJ’s and VJ’s all over the world. My12inch.com is the first of its kind and serves most of the top radio and club DJ’s in the world.

Over 15 years rockin the airwaves in Los Angeles and a successful business are something to be proud of. Not many DJ’s can spin house music at a rave or hip hop at a high school, but Enrie’s ability to do so and do it well, keeps him in the game. There is no stopping DJ Enrie and in his own words, “I like playing music and taking people on a trip.” As long as DJ Enrie can do this, he will.
