Erik Guarino better known in the streets and music industry as DJ DAZE 1st started music when he was just 11 years old. What got him started in this business were the streets where he grew up on known as Jackson Heights,Queens and Castle Hill in the Bronx
Deeply inspired by the people whom he use to hang with, DJ DAZE became more and more fond of music and its creative aspects which allowed him to broaden his ideas in life and use self expression. His mother had bought him his first DJ equipment for Christmas when hip hop at the time, better known as rap music, had just started to flourish. His 1st song which he will never forget being heard on the radio station 92ktu with DJ Paco to be exact, was "Super Rhymes" by Jimmy Spicer. From that moment on DJ DAZE fell deeply in love with the hip hop culture.
His favorite artist at the time were groups like Afrika Bambatta, Sugar Hill Gang, Cold Crush, Rakim, LL Cool J, KRS ONE, Mc Shan, Biggie Smalls, Big L, & the late great Big Pun. Also inspired by legends from the likes of the infamous Kid Capri, Ron G, Tony Touch, DJ Camillo. Erik Guarino made his decision as to what he wanted to do with the rest of his life, so he became a DJ and a new artist was born who from there on out would be known by the rest of world as "DJ DAZE".
Spending many restless nights studying this fine art of DJ'in and mastering his craft, DJ Daze began to realize that there was something more in his heart that he wanted than to just play music, he also wanted to create it. He began spending more of his time listening to how beats were actually made and studying the unique fingerprints that were left behind. Listening to producers such as Dr Dre, The Alchemist, Just Blaze, The Neptunes, & Swizz Beats, DJ DAZE then decided to begin another chapter in his life and therefore began producing music.
Since he 1st began music production, word of his artistic abilities quickly spread throughout the boroughs of New York and DJ Daze found himself providing beats to many recording artist in and out of the area. Artist such as Triple Seis, formally of Terror Squad, MDT from Washington Heights Manhattan, Mizzory, a local artist from Deland FL, The Skrollaz a local group from Deltona FL, & Y.O from Yonkers were all taking notice of his musical abilities and quickly rushed to the opportunity of being able to work side by side with this new producer whom everyone was suddenly talking about.
What DJ DAZE plans to offer to the music industry, is a new style of music that has never been heard before all in the same time providing positive energy for the youth of today.
His future goals and aspirations are to become one of the top producers in the music industry while living the life of hip hop to the fullest.
