I HAVE THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD!! I Dj for Hed Kandi and also present and produce the Hed Kandi and Nu Cool Radio Shows which go out all over the world. I've been working in dance music and radio for a very very long time - did my first dance show on Radio back in 1988, and played my first record as a Dj when I was still at school (course everything was in black and white back then.). I also started doing remixes last year with fellow HK DJ Andy Daniels under the name of Triple Dee

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!!!

Favourite Club Ever?

Would have to be The Hacienda, both as a punter and then later as a DJ, too. I'm also a big fan of El Divino, Pacha and Space Terrace - back in the UK, my favourite Kandi night was at the late lamented Gatecrasher - unbeatable, really, and hopefully the team there will rebuild something equally special, but there are loads of clubs I've been lucky to play at that would fill up this page if I mentioned them.

Favourite DJs?

The daddy of them all for me, is Graeme Park - I shook my ass to him week in, week out back in the day, and learned so much from him - I've still only ever heard him drop a beat once in the 19 years I've been hearing him play. I also learned from him that staying down to earth in this business, and being realistic about what you do is a quality that comes in very useful. He also has a similarly juvenile and ridiculous sense of humour to mine, which helps.

I'm also very lucky to DJ every week with the Team Kandi DJs who don't get enough credit for their talents and abilities. Lots of Djs say they play "hed kandi style" but not very many can actually do it. I have special fondness for my fellow "Northern Monkeys" Andrew Daniels and Phil Faversham, as they have a very similar attitude to me. And they're both old too.

Favourite Record?

WAY too many to mention really - How do I select one record when i've been buying them since I was seven years old? I would say that Lil Louis' "French Kiss" is probably one of the most important in my life, simply because when I first heard that record in a club, it literally changed my life: at that moment, I knew I had to get involved in house music in some way. It really blew me away.still does.

How did you join Hed Kandi?

I actually joined 4 years ago to produce the Hed Kandi radio show on Galaxy and then about a year after that I started to dj for them. When mark doyle left 18 months ago to do his own thing, I then started to present the Hed Kandi show and then a year ago started Nu Cool too - gotta be honest, I love doing them - I'm a bit of an old ham really.

If you have any other more interesting questions then send them me and I'll try to give a more interesting answer.
