DJ Cre-8 has been rocking the nightlife scene in New York and the Tri-state area for over 10 years. Born and raised in Central Islip Long Island, New York, DJ Cre-8 started mixing records at the early age of 12 while watching DMC and ITF battles on videocassettes and djing has been his passion ever since. DJ Cre-8's career started out by djing all the local high school parties and events, where he met Dj Triple-R. Triple-R rocked the party with Spanish and Latin music, while DJ Cre-8 added the hip hop, R & B, and reggae to the mix. Soon after, DJ Cre-8 met with Triple-R's cousin, the late great DJ Threat, who was djing for WQHT Hot 97. This was around the time he started the crew Turntable Assassins. He did not hesitate to add DJ Cre-8 and Triple-R to the crew. This opened the doorway to DJ Cre-8's career.
The Turntable Assassin DJ Cre-8 has spun in various clubs in the tri-state area such as the legendary Copacabana, Club New York, Latin Quarters, Club Deep, Providence,T-Ny, Eugene's, and many, many more. After the passing of DJ Threat, it was in his heart and soul to proceed with the name of Turntable Assassins and to pursue the dream of DJ Threat, as well as keep his legacy alive.
DJ Cre-8 has spun at many popular venues such as The Official Hennessy Party in South Beach, Miami, hip-hop artist Missy Elliot's birthday party in Miami, Billboard Live and various clubs in Miami. He's also djed at Riker's Island for the Willie Esco Clothing Company. He's been featured on many episodes of MTV Tr3's Sucker Free Latino show, hosted by good friend The Crowd Mover L-Boogs. Other venues include The Official MTV Tr3's launch party in times square New York, hosted by Nelly Furtado and Calle 13, parties with guests such as Busta Rhymes, the Lox, Lumidee, Joe Buddens,Mr. Vegas and many more in attendance. DJ Cre-8 has been nominated for the "Best Club DJ" award at the annual Latin Urban Mixx Awards 2 years in a row. His latest accomplishment is djing the 2008 Pre-MTV Video Music Awards in Hollywood, California. Besides spinning at parties in the New York Tri-State area, DJ Cre-8 has shared his love for music in other states and in other countries by spinning in Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois,California, Portugal, Spain as well as other parts of Europe and North America.
In 2007, he landed a weekly spot on Saturday nights from 6-7pm on 98.5FM/96.9FM La Fiesta, a Latin Radio Station which specializes in all genres of latin music. In September 2008, he will be launching an online radio show on www.Alistradio.net, where he will have a weekly show on Tuesday nights from 6-7pm called "Certified Radio."
There have been many people that have inspired DJ Cre-8. Some of the biggest inspirations to his career is the late great DJ Threat, fellow Turntable Assassin DJ Smooth Denali, The Crowd Mover L-Boogs, Kid Capri, DJ Camilo, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Craze, and DJ Q-Bert.
Wherever DJ Cre-8 spins, he takes the party to the next level. "To me it's not about making money for the night…I love the energy the crowd gives off - I live for it!" His major focus is to make sure everyone is having a good time, leaving the club talking about how great he was and where he's going to be spinning at next. His future plans are to continue spinning at clubs, perhaps bring his spinning skills to the big screen, and to hopefully land a slot on a major radio station.
