“Yeah! You listening to THE FREE AGENT: DJ COOL CH! Club _____ Letz Go!!” This is a typical quote from a night of party rockin’ from Queenz’ bred, BX born, South Florida/NYC resident IBA dj COOL CH. Packing dance floors, ringing up VIP tables & your occasional celebrity visit- THE FREE AGENT has over 20 years in the game doing what he do best: DJin’!

CH was born in the birthplace of HIP HOP: the Bronx. Growing up, CH’s influences ranged from park jams by the fathers: KOOL HERC, AFRIKA BAMBAATAA, & GRANDMASTER FLASH to Latin rhythms of the great FANIA ALL-STARS and finally- hot summer days in YANKEE stadium loving his NY YANKEES! The Bronx was burning! At the same time a new culture was being born [HIP HOP]- one that would CHANGE music, globally- forever. With the BX giving him the foundation that would inspire this HIP HOP soldier; his family would move to Queens as the 80s were coming.

In Queens, CH’s early skills in the culture were GRAFFITI & B BOYin’. His love for dance pushed him to save every nickel & dime to buy the latest records. “Man, my parents were broke- but, somehow I had an allowance and it would be spent on 12” & 45s. I’d hit family parties or jams with my boys, loaded with our music to rock the spot. I was nine when mom called the police- ‘cause I had gone off to Times Square to MUSIC FACTORY to buy records with my boy. I came home with JIMMY SPICER, SUGARHILL GANG & KURTIS BLOW'- a squad car picks me up. I couldn’t sit for a week- but I was happy playing my joints everyday!” It became a routine to DIG IN THE CRATES ever since. “Although I’ve been serviced by the industry since like ‘94- I still love hunting down the latest ‘HOT’ record (or MP3 now).” Christmas ’85 saw CH get his first set-up. 2 TECHNICS SL-100s[Belt Drive], a JVC mini-boom box & GEMINI mixer. “My graf partners walked in on me playing with 2 copies of LA DI DA DI on 2 different stereos. They was like: ‘You need some Technics homie’- so I behaved in school and rocked Aces on my report card- the rest is HIStory as they say.” They formed the dj crew: MEN OF MUZIK and quickly became Queens’ illest party rockers. Their mix-tapes became legendary. RON MILLS of Sirius fame is one of the founders.

The 90s saw CH venture into the rap game with his short lived group: THE CUTTHROATS. Managed by GANGSTARR, the CT’s eventually signed with JIVE and were featured on the MENACE II SOCIETY soundtrack. Industry buzz was grand- but the group disbanded and never got back together. Out of that, CH formed a relationship with GURU and thus, had an insider’s view on the legendary Gangstarr albums. “With Guru, I learned alot. He’s been all over the world- that kind of experience keeps you grounded and prepared for this crazy industry.” Strictly rocking parties in Queens wasn’t enough for him. His VIP NYC club status eventually ended opening the door for him to showcase his talent to the rest of the city. From THE TUNNEL to LIFE to CARBON/EXIT to CLUB CHEETAH to CHINA CLUB to FLOW NYC- you name it- he was there. That kind of resume got him to start traveling to MIAMI as NYC promoters would do events on the beach and bring the city’s best dj’s to rock. The end of the decade saw him team up with his boys @ KME Records and put out some of Corona's hottest street shit ever!

The new millenium saw CH graduate from SAE-NY with an Audio Engineering degree in 2001. In 2003, CH moved down to South Florida where he had been djing events down in SOBE since da mid-90s. Injecting that Queens flavor into the beaches, CH is here to resurrect that REAL hip hop behind enemy lines. " The industry is fucking everything up! Radio, TV, its all bullshit. That IZ not HIP HOP! Mutherfuckers is walking around saying they down with hip hop- back in the day you had to run thru an Apache line to be down!" Widely known as that dj with the real shit, CH has resided at some of SFL's hottest nightclubs! RELEASE, FLOW WPB, RESORT, DELUX, RADIUS/CLUB BOCA, Pangea@The Hard Rock Hollywood, ZNOs in SOBE and many more! Always into something, CH loves to do car shows! " I definitely got the need for speed! Dope rides and sexy chicks- what a RUSH!" In 2006, CH spread out his palette to include working with Non-for-Profit organizations and numerous foundations. Always willing to give back to the community, CH continues to stay active towards that direction. 2008 started well for CH as he begun the process of preparing to launch his independent record label: IBA Music Group. He promises to drop great music that people all over the world can relate to. He also teamed up with fellow hip hop dj: Stevie D. to form: "THE SHOW". Together they started putting out a mix-tape series with the exact name. This year has been a busy one. A tour with rapper Nut-Rageous in Europe started in the summer. CH signed budding rap act: WRITERZ BLOCK to his IBA Music Stable. The young gunnaz, promise to put "The Real" in SFLA hip hop. Lyrically dangerous, their future is bright! Along with WB, CH also started his hip hop show called: 360- ENTA DA CYPHA. Consisting of talented MCs vieing for battle fame, with a champion each show! Guest djs also make this a true Hip Hop event! Stay Tuned
