Dj C.I. nasce il 18 nov. 1974 a Baden (AG) a sedici anni si trasferisce a Lugano (TI)
Poco dopo il suo arrivo in Ticino forma un gruppo Rap dal nome S.O.d.A. in qualità di MC. Sin dall'inizio il gruppo ha un’intensa attività live: Grafiskate (Locarno), Palco ai giovani (Lugano),Hip-Hop Jam (Zurigo),e altri.
Nel 1995, finita l’esperienza con i S.O.d.A. , Dj C.I. intraprende subito un altro progetto come cantante e corista con Momo Posse. Con il gruppo produce l’album “ Momosutra”( Emi Switzerland production) e la sua promozione lo tiene impegnato per un anno intero con una tournè in svizzera.
Contemporaneamente all’attività musicale con i Momo Posse, dal 1995 al 1996 conduce con Angelo Caruso Radio Campione International “Da Panico” ,una trasmissione radiofonica che va in onda in diretta tutti i giovedì sera. Questo programma ha un grandissimo successo di pubblico e spinge Dj C.I ad incominciare una serie d’importanti collaborazioni.
Nel 1997 produce per Oblò, di cui fa parte anche come Mc, un Ep in vinile che lo porterà a fare diversi importanti live in Germania, Italia e Svizzera.
Nel 200 produce un Cd di sei tracce intitolato “Dichiari amari divari” per un gruppo italiano Trilanda,distribuito sul mercato da Good Stuff (Roma)
Nel 2002 ha partecipato come produttore alla compilation “Cani da Canapa” con due brani.
Durante questi anni d’attività in campo musicale, Dj C.I. ha lavorato in diversi club ticinesi in qualità di Dj. Incomincia lavorando al No Ties in collaborazione con Radio Campione International, dove dal 1996 al 1999 intrattiene regolarmente gli appassionati di musica Hip-Hop il giovedì sera. Questa esperienza è particolarmente importante poiché è stato il primo locale in Ticino a proporre una serata interamente dedicata a questo genere.
Dopo l’impegno al No Ties, Dj C.I. continua il suo lavoro di Dj al club Prince, dove ha proposto nuovamente la serata del giovedì dedicata alla musica Rap e R&B. In questo periodo, che va dal 1999 al 2001, ha organizzato uno show case del rapper ER Piotta (2000) presso il locale deve lavorava.
Nei 2 anni successivi ha avuto la possibilità di ampliare la sua esperienza suonando in diversi club ticinesi: Morandi (“Thursday Black Evening”), Desperados, Square(“Black Coffe”), Titanic. Uno degli ultimi impegni di Dj C.I. in questo ruolo è nel 2003 quando suona sull’imbarcazione Lago di Locarno. Quest’evento che si è svolto durante i tre mesi estivi sul Lago Maggiore può essere considerato un vero successo in quanto il riscontro è stato davvero ottimo.
Dal 2003 DjC.I. apre il suo studio di registrazione dove lavora anche per Michel registrando la Compilation “Da Lontano”(Distribuzione Vibra) queste registrazioni lo portano a lavorare con Mc del calibro di Metro Stars, Kaso, Club Dogo, Medda , Esa, Inoki ecc. In quel periodo Dj C.I. partecipa anche ad un'altra compilation “Fire it up” curata da Dj Jay-K con un rmx di Busta Rhymes.
A metà estate 2007 Dj C.I. comincia a lavorare al progetto di Maxi-B per l’album da solista. A fine settembre Dj C.I. inizia a far parte dei Metro Stars come Dj , tecnico di studio e produttore. La collaborazione con Maxi-B e Michel (M*S), lo porta a fare una serie di progetti importanti, tra cui: Un Singolo “Fuori Controllo” Maxi B & Matteo Pelli feat. Metro Stars che vende in Ticino 6000 copie in poco più di un mese e mezzo.
Questo singolo prodotto da Massimo Scolari ( Around The Music ) che contiene un Video backstage e un Rmx curato da Michel (M*S) li porta ad essere primi in classifica a Official Charts di Radio 3iii per sette settimane consecutive. Gli interi incassi del cd sono stati devoluti totalmente in beneficenza alla “FTIA”(Federazione Ticinese Integrazione Andicap).
Tra varie apparizioni televisive e presenze radiofoniche,il 23 Febbraio 2008, partecipa con I Metro Stars a “Il mio nome è G.” con un rmx. Trasmissione dedicata alla scomparsa di Giorgio Gaber insieme a Enzio Jacchetti, Enrico Ruggeri, Eugenio Finardi, Aurelio ( Zelig) ecc. L’esibizione televisiva ha un enorme successo.
DJ C.I. is born on the 18th of November, 1974, in Baden, Aargau, moving to Lugano, Ticino, at 16 years of age.
Shortly after his arrival in Ticino he forms a group by the name of S.O.d.A in which his role is that of MC. The group has, from the very beginning, a large number of live performances: Graffiskate in Locarno, Palco ai giovani in Lugano, Hip Hop Ham in Zurich, etc.
When he leaves the group in 1995, DJ C.I. immediately takes on another project as vocalist with Momo Posse. With the group he produces the album Momosutra (EMI Switzerland) and its promotion keeps him busy for a whole year, on tour around Switzerland.
Contemporaneous with his musical activity with Momo Posse, he conducts the radio show Radio Campione International Da Panico from 95 to 96, with Angelo Caruso, which airs every Thursday night. The show has great success and spurs DJ C.I. to the initiation of a series of important collaborations.
In 1997 he produces an EP in vinyl for the group Oblo, in which he also participates as MC. This will lead him to various important live performances in Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.
In 2000 he produces CD containing six tracks, entitled Dichiari Amari Divari, for the Italian group Trilanda, and is marketed by Good Stuff (Rome). In 2002 he contributes two tracks to the compilation Cani da Canapa, also acting as its producer.
During all these years in the musical field, DJ C.I. also takes on job-offers from numerous establishments, working as a DJ. He starts at the No Ties in collaboration with Radio Campione Iternational, where he regularly drives the Hip Hop crowd wild every every Thursday night. This is especially significant, No Ties being the first ever in Ticino to dedicate a night wholly to that music genre.
After his stint at No Ties, DJ C.I. continues DJay-ing at the club Prince, where he introduces the same program of a Thursday night given entirely to Rap and R&B. During that time-frame, going from 1999 to 2001, he also organizes a show-case for the rap-artist Er Piotta (2000) at the Prince.
In the successive two years he has the possibility to nurture his experience, playing in various Ticino clubs such as Morandi (Thursday Black Evening), Desperados, Square (Black Coffee on Sunday nights), Titanic. One of DJ C.I.s last such ventures is in 2003, when he performs with enormous success on the boat of the Lake of Locarno. This event, taking place during the three summer months on Lake Maggiore, is to be considered a real success in view of the acclaim it received, which was truly overwhelming.
Beginning in 2003, DJ C.I. joins GUN FUNK Records as producer and sound technician and in doing so becomes the teams first official partner, while at the same time expanding his artistic horizons.
The first official product of the new-born record label in which C.I. plays a part is the compilation Fire it Up by DJ Jay K, with whom he collaborates by contributing two works of own as well as being studio technician.
In addition, he has worked with Michel on the compilation Da Lontano (Vibra Distribution) which features works by Esa (Bella Clap yo Hands), Inoki (Cash Dreamin), Club Dogo (Megalopoli Suono), Medda (Non Stop), and many others.
His last efforts have been towards aiding Nest with his long-awaited debut album Il Coscritto, in which C.I. produced various songs, and mixed and recorded most of the tracks, filling the role of technical studio director.
In the beginning of 2007, Dj C.I. produces a single for Jasha (Strassen Sachen, Berlin) feat. Maxi.B (Metro Stars, Ticino) entitled “Tag fuer Tag” which at once has had an excellent feedback.
