DJ BIGBEAT LOUIE

DJ BIG BEAT started DJing back in the day July of 1979 after junior high. I begged my grandmother to get me a pair of Tecnics sl b 1's after graduating from the 9th grade. From then on it was all history as one may say seeing the likes like Afrika Bambaataa and Jazzy Jay of the Zulu nation rocking at the community centers off Bronx river projects I was heavily influenced especially the records and break beat sets that Bam and Jazzy rotated on. Born in the boogie down Bronx in December of 65"" I grew up mostly in the sound view section of the South Bronx and went to school together with others that were into the same thing I was one of them the legendary little Louie Vega afterwards I would later team up with dj the Wiz Kid (R.I.P.)and Dj Calhoon who later on introduced me to Jazzy Jay and Bam. As the 80's kicked in and Hip Hop was growing I decided to learn more of the arts and went to school the center for the media arts for recording engineering then went on as producing but never gave up my love for djing that’s when I started going out and digging gold records that were harder than hard to find nowadays with eBay and the net you could find almost anything. But back then you really had to have knowledge of music period now I just do a lot of remix projects and in high demand the phone doesn't stop ringing with me I keep eating regardless for those entering the game now yeah I know shit has changed over the two decades dramatically but always have respect for the old school pioneers that bought the rap and hip hop to the tables they paved the way for yall so always pay homage to that era as for me well I keep up with the times but I doubt if anybody today can beat me at the crates I know too much and always will be a step ahead as far as Production Yeah I sample but is the way you do it.
