Divine Burning Angels is a Melodic and Dark Heavy Metal band from New York

Divine Burning Angels was created late into the summer of 2002 by guitarist/songwriter Phil Connors, percussion architect Darren Markoff and bassist Brett Grimm. During this period, the band displayed an aire of the Gothenburg metal style blended with the ferocity and outright rage of bands like Immortal and Death. Shortly thereafter, the band aquired singer Jerry Sanchez, whose voice was so raw that it seemed to emulate the sound of an individual gargling with a mouthful of glass. The onstage performances during this period were energetic; beginning with a powerful debut at Looney Tunes in Babylon and ending with a show at the former L'amours of Brooklyn, with many shows in between. These shows were brutal and relentlessly heavy. One demo was recorded with this lineup of the band. This disc was a two song EP, which was self produced for under $100.

Brett Grimm left Divine Burning Angels in late 2003. Less than six months later, vocalist Jerry Sanchez departed DBA in order to pursue a successful career in the USMC. Bass player Brett Grimm was replaced by progressive metal influenced Keegan Monti-Kewley; who was also well versed in the exotic warr guitar. Vocalist Jerry Sanchez was replaced by Korotory Vocalist Ray Truhn who was previously auditioned for the part. Added to the lineup was classically educated virtuoso Marko Galic, whose delicate but intricate keyboard melodies were almost as fast as his furious but insightful guitar solos. The band continued to spread it's own variety of melodic heavy metal propaganda across New York and New Jersey well into the summer of 2005, until the band entered into a period of hiatus. At this stage, Bassist Keegan Monti-Kewley and Guitarist Marko Galic decided to leave the band in order to pursue other musical interests. One disc was recorded with this lineup of the band. This demo featured three songs; which you can listen to right now on this page.

The band which now has been on hiatus for the better part of two years will always be remembered for this line up the chemistry between these players was magic. The future will determine what will happen for DBA but for now this page serves as a tribute to the magic of this line up
