Diskoteka Avariya" [Crash Disco] are lighthearted guys from Ivanovo, with an excellent sense of humor. Quite often, Avariya encounters crashes which, fortunately, don't usually result in serious consequences. Inexplicable coincidences with their name are a frequent phenomenon. Discoteka Avariya has encountered everything from swarms of locusts on stage, broken down tour buses, stadium power outages and fires, and the tragic death of a group member in 2001. All of this could be assumed since our name's definition is "Crash." The first word "Disco" is still extremely important too. When we arrived in Moscow, top producers wanted us to get rid of it. The word was very "unfashionable" since it suggested dancing and clubs. But we defended the word "Disco." In fact, it opened up a whole new field of possibilities for us. It's possible to hear anything that you like in our songs. Both "metal-trash," ballads, rap, rock, and remixes.



"We played rock music at the very beginning" -says Ryzhov. But we didn't have enough money to buy the equipment. Somehow we were lead to disco music. We thought that we would play disco music, and earn money to buy the equipment for a rock group. But then, we got used to disco music, and got hooked into the business!"



Discoteka Avariya have been at the height of the Russian music scene for over 10 years, selling millions of albums, releasing 18 music videos, and touring all over the world.
