C-RAYZ WALZ

Legendary Champion C-Rayz Walz considers energy an art unto itself. His career is a testament to hustle.

The Bronx emcee is a lyrical maniac on stage, off the tip of his tongue, in the studio, on MTV and everywhere you turn these days.

Aside from two Classic Lp's and an Exclusive Ep on independent label Definitive Jux, C-Rayz has released over 25 singles and six full-length albums on his own label, SunCycleEnt.

ED HOOLIGAN

Ed is trying to revisit the “Golden Age” of Hip-Hop. Not in the cliché ‘anti-anything-not-underground’ manner, but rather an energetic re-connection with the uncut forms that helped catapult the culture into the bold grittiness that remains ‘til this day, buried beneath the clouds of commercial superficiality. Influenced by everything from the Wu-Tang to Minor Threat, ATCQ to RATM, Ed continues to reinvent the very meaning of hardcore. Both obsessive and compulsive, he pays close attention to systematically structuring rhythms, methodically constructing syllables, and hittin’ you in the head with that stylistic sickness.

GON

Chicago based hip hop artist Gon is on a journey. From the war torn Middle East to the heart of the Midwest, Gon has begun compiling his multifarious cultural experiences with inspiration lifted from the pages of authors such as Kurt Vonnegut, Chuck Palahniuk, and Charles Bukowski, as well as hip-hop artists 2Pac and Nas. The product of which is proving his most valuable instrument to be his perspective.

KHALED

When was the last time you were listening to a song and you heard a verse that was so dope that you immediately rewound the track to hear it again? To quote a Rakim lyric, “it’s been a long time.” Khaled, an emcee out of Lexington, Kentucky, is looking to do something about this. “I’m really trying to get people excited about lyrics again,” he explains, “I’m trying to take it back to the days when rhyming actually mattered.”

THE STONEFACED GREMLIN

Stone faced. The act of showing no emotion, or as Chicago’s Stone Faced Gremlin puts it, being too knowledgeable about all sides of a subject or situation to have either a happy or a sad face about it. All in all, being stone faced is a recognition of neutrality. “I came up with the name Stone Faced Gremlin because I’m not the type to wear my heart on my sleeve,” he explains, “I keep a stone face.” His heart, however, can be seen and heard loud and clear in Stone Faced Gremlin’s music.
