Dirty Lenin is Sexy Party Alterna-Pop (aka SPAP)



Dirty Lenin creates what New York's L Magazine calls "pop songs for the wry and witty."



Their lyrics sparkle with cheeky observations about difficult break-ups and easy hook-ups, while their music warmly wraps each idea in jangling power pop.



Together since 2003, this co-ed foursome recently released their third EP, 2% faster. Renée's inventive guitar and Tate's playful keys and sultry sax are driven by Metro's rock and roll drumming and Cosmo's melodic bass. Renée and Tate, taking turns on lead vocals and intricate backup harmonies, create lush, hook-laden lines reminiscent of bands like Weezer, X, the B-52's, Blondie and The New Pornographers.

While on tour in California this past January, LA.com stated, "The band's energy and enthusiasm are contagious."



More recently, their hometown AM New York wrote, "This energetic crew is entertaining to watch. Their frenetic sound and amusing onstage antics certainly demand attention."



Tate explains, "When we started we were just playing for large groups of

friends. We'd have everyone come up on stage and jump around and be crazy. When people we didn't know started coming to see us play, we just kept the same attitude. Like every show is a private party."
