The road to raw creative expression is more often than not plagued by trials and trauma. It is in these darkest of moments that art is so frequently born. For emerging singer-songwriter Dillon Campbell, the journey was one wrought with drug abuse, isolation, and hard-won rehabilitation.

At 22, already having dealt with a decade’s worth of personal struggle, Dillon took to his 1985 Martin acoustic guitar and began writing and performing intimate songs, notable for their emotional depth and distinct lyricism. As Dillon likes to say, “I'm here to bring out the goosebumps in people.”

Dillon broods brilliantly, and though his influences range from David Bowie to Ray LaMontagne, he is in fact the kind of eccentric 21st century crooner one might expect the son of mega-musicman Glen Campbell to be.

Never one to rest on (or receive much peace from) his family laurels, over the course of the next several years Dillon would perform his songs at over 200 shows, from the world-famous Whiskey in Hollywood to Piano’s in NYC.

Dillon’s musical evolution continues with the release of his debut EP, Save Yourself, essentially a sampler of tracks from Dillon’s soon-to-be-released sophomore full-length, Journal for the Brokenhearted . The album combines Dillon’s moody and raucous storytelling with real rock‘n’roll roots, taking us on a wild ride from crisis to elation and back again.

With Journal for the Brokenhearted, Dillon Campbell expands his musical breadth and continues a family legacy of powerful singing and songwriting.
