NEW! CHECK OUT Dick Deluxe on the job! MY NEW Social Network!

Strapping 6'6" OG Texan and longtime SF underground musician, actor and agitator has gone south-in more ways than one! Now in Sunset Beach, playing a lot of music.

Second generation musical performer and my Yale sophomore daughter Zoelle is making it three generations. In the slide thingee above all three generations in action-my Mom-a classical piano heavy- circa 1947 getting ready for her senior graduate recital and the Egner Twins-my Dad and namesake Uncle Dick as they appeared at the Jefferson Hotel in St Louis in the late 40's. Zoelle is harmonizing with my producer/pal Ted Politzer and I'm thrilled she's on my album. It's a real blessing to have music in the DNA! Also in the above pics is a shot of the Revue doing a little outdoor gig-that's Richard Marriott of Clubfoot on bone, Steve Mackay from the Stooges on sax and Mindy Kay on vocals-she's one of SF's great undiscovered talents.

I was one of the founding members of Clubfoot Orchestra, the Sundogs and a solo artist. After a decade break to make some dough and rear a child I came back with a new small label (the accidentally non-profit Content Conduit) and a rash of projects.

My electronica solo debut Gods Punching Bags came out in 02. I also produced and performed on gay hip-hop groundbreaker Juba Kalamka (of deepdickcollective) solo debut, a improvisational duo CD with CFO composer entitled Bolokikian Fon Fon Fon, produced Bishop Norman Williams solo saxophone CD and did a personal fave Dick Deluxe Does Duets.

By 05 I'd released Don't Borax the Borax Man, appeared as a slimy politician in Jim Swanson's (co-founder of bicycle protest movement Critical Mass and my studio and business partner in SF still) comedy short Aqua Ho and come to my new hood Lower Hollywood and now RB.

To appropriate a worn sf phrase-from my first gigs in Texas in the mid 70's to now with working with artists from Townes van Zandt to Snakefinger to Vassar Clements to Christine Kittrell.what a long strange trip it's been!

Footnote: Drop by Sunset Beach for a great dive bar crawl when you get a chance-and ask where I'm holed up-could be any of several places all very cool-a drinker's paradise since everything is walking and stumbling distance-no cars needed for us locals.

I play regular announced gigs but also we do a lot of spontaneous jamming and so forth at Mother's, the Greenbelt -you name it! Hit me with an email if there's nothing listed on a particular and i can tell you where the fun stuff is going on-chances are I'm in the middle of it someway or another. Great little community and all we ask is you keep it on the down low-if it was to get discovered it would no doubt fuck everything up.
