Arcane and Syne (Dialects), are originally from Chicago and Cincinnati, respectively. Dialects formed in 1999, in St. Petersburg FL, where the group grew together and developed their talents, recording and performing over a band of live musicians. In 2002, Dialects two lead emcees moved to Philadelphia in hopes to progress their music forward in a more competitive scene, and have been submersed in the Philly underground since, joining forces with many of the local noteriety in efforts to further establish their presence. Dialects offer their blazing, conscious lyrics to a city known through the nation for their uncontrollable murder rate. While remaining true in their livication to His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie and their rastafarian faith, Dialects manage to fit in amongst the city's diverse musical scene, combining uplifting lyrics and to the a wide style of beats, riddims, and preferably, live musicians.

After crossing paths with a local label enough times to think they were extended family, Dialects joined their collective of incredible musicians and talented emcees. This collective, known as Burndown (myspace.com/burndownallstars), has taken Philly by storm and has begun small tours over the entire East Coast. Burndown's premise? Take the best vocalists and instrumentalists from the most talented underground Philadelphia bands and crews to create what has been written about as "the best music out of Philly since the Roots". In 2006, the Burndown All Stars (the labels narrowed down twelve piece live band) won Discmaker's North East Independent Music World Series. The following year BDAS toured the nation on FUSE TV's Bodog Music Battle of the Bands reality TV show, finishing 4th in the country. Upon return, the All Stars released the album "Wake Up" out of Burndown Studios in Germantown. Currently the collective is supporting Burndown's individual projects, working on new material, and preparing an all new stage show for summer of 2008.

Dialects also work closely with their lifelong bredren Bobo Righteous of Humble Camp, whose label and web of members spreads from the Virgin Islands and Florida, to Philadelphia and Brooklyn. Though Dialects can be found all over the East Coast and occasionally in the Mid West they remain primarily grounded in our nations first capital and city of brotherly love, Philadelphia.

In early 2006, Dialects went on a recording mission to Kingston, Jamaica. They recorded 5 singles with three different studios. One track was voiced at the notorious Xterminator Records, one with Nas Hammond of the Harmony House camp and three more with producer's Yogi & Lenn Hammond of Fiwi Records. Keep your ear to IRIE FM for some sweet Dialects sounds. In addition to their work with Burndown, Dialects took their experiences from the island and went into the studio upon return to begin work on the album "Urban Hash," which was officially released on July 7, 2007. Since, the album has been picked up for distribution by I.D.C., based out of San Francisco, and Ernie B's (the largest online reggae distributor), as well as being placed on Sun Sports TV's show "Island Hoppers" on Dish Network and Direct TV. Dialects newest project is an album over produced beats instead of strictly live riddims. The tracks are produced by Philly's Klassick Productions and DJ Cramske. The album is scheduled to be recorded and released through Kawari Sound. More than fourteen tracks are currently underway in production, and everything is expected to be ready by mid summer 2008. Some very special guests from Philadelphia who have never collaborated with Dialects before are scheduled to be appearing on the album as well, so keep you ear to the street!

Currently Dialects continue to perform live regularly in and around the city as well as the East Coast. For a full biography and lots more, check www.dialectsmusic.com.
