D-HOUSE-WANDA'S MINISTRY

Wanda, a singer/songwriter who was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, gave her life to THE LORD at a very young age. Since coming to Cincinnati, Ohio Wanda ( the shy sibling of thirteen ) started singing in the church at the tender age of twelve. Wanda also grew up singing in the Cincinnati public schools; most noteworthy, Hughes High School choirs, ensembles, and performing in the school’s talent shows under the direction of Mr. Terry Brown who is now deceased. Mr. Brown was a well known musical director who had an amazing tenor voice when he sang, and it was easily identifiable. If one remembered to back in the day, he/she would recognize his voice as the voice on the soul train commercials. Mr. Brown amazed at the deep rich tone, and style that Wanda had in her voice told her that what ever she did in life, to never stop singing.



This gave Wanda confidence so she performed in the school talent shows with well know, prominent secular artist such as, Mr. Antonio (LA) Reid, CEO-Laface Records/Death Jam: Mr. Jimmy Machom, lead guitar player who played for Ms. Stephanie Mills; and The Gapp Band, and Mr. Kevin (Kayo) Roberson, bass guitar player for The Deele. As Wanda's childhood friends gained notoriety as artists in secular music, God has given Wanda a ministry in and a heart for Gospel music.



After high school, Wanda continued to sing in the church choir at the First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights in Cincinnati, OH. God continued to bless her to minister to His people through music in the church and at various other functions. Wanda is currently under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Thomas H. Ferrell Jr., Pastor at New Vision Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. God has blessed Wanda with the opportunity to minister as one of the lead songstress in a concert under the direction of GOSPEL recording artist Mr. Rodnie Bryant. Wanda has also been blessed to minister in an “I HEAR MUSIC” workshop- showcase with GOSPEL recording artists, Mr. Kirk Carr; the Prince of Praise, Mr. Byron Cage; and the incomparable, Ms. Vickie Winans. Wanda believes The Lord, who is ALWAYS in the blessing business, further blessed her to minister through song at a close friend’s home going celebration with his cousin, GOSPEL recording artist, Mr. Darwin Hobbs.



Wanda continue in ministry today as a solo artist, with her church family choir, and with her predominantly family GOSPEL group, 1-N-Spirit. Although God has blessed Wanda to minister with some of the most popular and influential artist in the industry, she remains faithful, and focused on what HE HAS for her. " Praise the Lord !" Wanda believes what GOD HAS for her, is for her! How ever, when Wanda is not out ministering, you can find her at home ministering where she says that her ministry starts, to a God fearing, lovable, husband of 31yrs., two beautiful daughters, a handsome son, a precious grandson, a sweet daughter -n-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and everyone GOD sends her way. Wanda knows that her calling is on going. She also believes that God has revealed her purpose to her; she says that her sole purpose in this earth is to compel the lost to give their lives to JESUS CHRIST; and to encourage the saved who have gone astray to re-kindle their romance with CHRIST. She believes that one of the gifts GOD has given her to be able to serve in HIS vineyard is through song. Wanda prays that when you listen to the selected songs, that you don't just merely listen to and enjoy the music, but that you really meditate on the lyrics, which she believe contain a serious message for you from THE LORD.
