Dezmond Meeks

"With a five octave vocal range, multi-instrumental ability, seasoned showmanship and an undying desire to make it to the top of the music industry he has been championed and widely respected by the likes of Mariah Carey, Berry Gordy, Paula Abdul and Mick Jagger to name a few. 2012 Los Angeles Music Award Winning Recording Artist & Louisiana native, Dezmond Meeks was groomed from the crib to have the artistic formative years of a superstar as most starting out in the church. Having achieved regional notoriety by the age of 7 and with his consistent study of and love for gospel music, Dezmond found himself in the company of some of the gospel's great legends. Following high school graduation, he attended Northwestern State University majoring in Performing Arts with a focus in Dance. It was at the end of this third year that Dezmond's break came from the massive wave known as "American Idol 4". The title that year was eventually given to Carrie Underwood but before the season was complete, Dezmond was offered work in Las Vegas paying tribute to one of the greatest entertainers of all time… Sammy Davis Jr. It was there where he received the "hard nocks" training and learned the meaning of "Paying your dues" while performing live often times 5 nights a week or more.
Through the years, Meeks has had the privilege of opening for and performing with some great names in the industry from Mya, Martha Wash, Trumaine Hawkins, The Clark Sisters, Mary Mary, Ty Taylor, Shoshana Bean, Sebastian Bach and more. It was in 2006 he first worked with producer Joey Sykes to create the sound for songs like "Them & Me" and "Try Me". Both of which have gone on to receive multiple Indie Award nominations, movie placement and critical acclaim. After a brief revisit back to the world of reality TV as a quarter finalist on season 6 of NBC's America's Got Talent, Dezmond had a twist of fate when he collaborated with chart topping KPop Producer Young Hu- Kim and Jovan Rangel their new EDM duo Ghøstkick for the anthem smash single "Celebrate". Since it's release, "Celebrate" has received rave reviews from top panelists, producers and publicists at the 2012 Winter Music Conference in Miami, FL in addition to a reaching #9 on the pop charts in Korea. This lead to Dezmond's further collaborations with In House Records recording artist Brian "CID DA KID" (Beyonce', Gaga, Wiz Kalifa,) on his forthcoming projects where Dezmond wrote, produced and sang backgrounds on a number of releases for In House Records. Most recently, Dezmond has been hard at work in the studio with multi platinum Dance Electronic artist/producer Chris Willis who has been responsible for the vocal, lyrical and melodic content on some of David Guetta's biggest hits."
