What is Destinations you ask?

Can hip hop, jazz, soul and spoken word be one? Destinations says yes. Destinations is a group containing spoken word artists, singers and rappers to form what is the next step in the poetry movement. In this self titled project, the group has dared to challenge the parameters of what has long been viewed as an underground culture, by presenting these art forms together to the masses. A step forward came with the advent of Def Poetry. Now Destinations steps forward to record their works in a way that makes non-enthusiasts avid listeners and fans. This group has placed their thought provoking works over progressive urban music. Destinations has also reinvigorated rap music by bringing back conscious and relevant lyrics, which are placed over authentic, hardcore hip hop beats. Destinations has thrilled college students and young urban professionals across the United States. They have moved audiences as large as 25,000 while still being able to be accepted by the coffee house crowds. Who knew that spoken word with music could have critical acclaim and be commercially accessible and viable? One group knew … Destinations!
