Descent of the Dead

Descent of the Dead is the result of a group of friends who started a death metal band and took over their high school. As everyone went their own ways after high school, brothers Luke and Griffin Wotawa continued to write music and got friends Mike Merill on bass and Kenny Griffiths on guitar as well. The current lineup was solidified in 2009 with the addition of Jesse Herzenach on vocals.



Shortly after, the band recorded three demo tracks, engineered by Ian Jekelis (Abysmal Dawn, Abigail Williams). A presence of solid technical musicianship, unforeseen to the ever-stagnant metal scene of the area, was set into stone through these recordings.



The lineup has remained strong ever since, and the band has sold out tickets to their California Metalfest and Summer Slaughter appearances at The Grove in Anaheim, CA. Countless other local shows with friend-bands have made for good times in the brotherhood of a small laid-back metal community, while particular other shows aren't even worthy of mention.
