Okay so you've got grime right? Mix a lil southside, funk with a sprinkle of jazz and a dash of r'n'b, then add some Birmingham urban artistic flavour with some mind provoking intellectual witty lyrics and you get ExtrAudenary Music.
Born Auden Allen, Deci4Life is one character with an incredible array of skill. Whether it be making beats in the studio, hosting a dubstep rave under codename 'Professor D', acting in the theatre, dominating poetry slam competitions or teaching young people Deci4Life delivers with high levels of quality.
Deci4Life has cooked beats up in the lab for artists like 'RTKal, Trilla 'Jermaine' Trillowski, Roxxxan, Screama (Complex Simplicity), Sony, Justice (One Day) and composed soundtracks for theatre projects including '8sixteen32 (Decypher Collective), The Rememberers (Apples and Snakes) and Speakers Corner (Don Letts). Under codename Professor D, Deci4Life hosted dubstep shows from when dubstep was unpopular and assisted greatly to the uprising of the dubstep scene in Birmingham sharing the stage with RTKal, P Money, Oneman, Plastician, Toddla T, Martello, Jason X, Caspa, Benga, 16 Bit and many more.
Deci4Life is also a member of the Decypher Collective; a crew of 'linguistic gymnasts who pioneered 'Grime Theatre' and recently went on national tour in September 2010. This is one amongst the few as Deci4Life has supported GZA (wutang), Skinnyman (Mudfam) and also Don Letts (Speakers Corner) and performed at Latitude Festival, Black Soil Film Festival (Amsterdam) and Decibel (Manchester).
Deci4Life is also a man who passes his skills to the younger and older generation doing music production, drama and spoken word workshops in schools, young offender institutes, theatres, youth clubs, universities galleries and has worked with children said to have behavioural issues with no problem at all. Easily being able to connect with people and build a creative environment even the most blocked creatives will uncover many secrets around this charismatic entity.
'Music is a way of life, a universal language where everyone can overstand the depths of people in ways the deepest conversation cannot. Theres a freedom in music which emancipates a mind trapped in a world of thought and allows dreams to be real. Its the paint brush which strokes the canvas of my mind and helps me too see clearly. My dream is to share the images in my mind with the world and I will keep making music until I can change the world with one song…'
Deci4Life is currently working on an EP called Love Salt which covers love, lust and his expression of the personal experiences they entail. This track features a fresh new 'wavy' sound and a fresh supply of never heard of vintage vocalist. Look out for the online release of Love Salt in July.
