ON ONE SUMMER NIGHT IN THE YEAR 2005, THREE FRIENDS DECIDED THEY WOULD GET REALLY DRUNK OVER A CASE OF DOS XX AND PLAY THEIR INSTRUMENTS AT VERY HIGH VOLUME JUST TO MERELY SEE WHAT WOULD COME ABOUT. WELL IT TURNED OUT THERE WAS ALREADY A BIT OF TALENT IN THEM AND THEY ENDED UP WRITING THEIR FIRST SONG TOGETHER (“FEMALE”) AND THEN ANOTHER (“BIRD IN A CAGE”). A FEW NIGHTS LATER AT A LOCAL IHOP, ONE OF THE FRIENDS WOULD TAKE A SEDUCTIVE PUFF FROM HIS CIGARETTE AND CHRISTEN THE NEW UNION DECADENT SUITS.

OVER A LENGTHY PERIOD OF TIME, THE FRIENDS WENT THROUGH AS MANY DIFFERENT BARS AS THEY DID BAND MEMBERS BUT STILL HAD ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. PLACES LIKE ART AWAKENINGS AND THE HOOKAH LOUNGE GAVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO DELIVER THE MUSIC IN ITS EARLY FORM AND SERVED AS A STARTING POINT FOR THEIR MENACE. REHEARSAL WAS USUALLY HELD AT THE DRUMMER’S HOUSE WHERE THEY USED THE CREATIVE SPACE TO HARNESS WHAT WOULD BECOME THEIR SOUND.

KIND WORDS FROM VEE, THE CORPUS CRITIC

“Anyway, the show was great. I liked the music before, but when you hear it live it's like fatal. The sound kind of goes all over the place but kind of stays in the same vicinity too. Some of your songs were very Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Some of them were very Ritchie Valens. Some were even a little Marilyn Manson, to be honest, but all the sounds, including some of the very blues-driven melodies, mixed together to give off just the right amount of fun and sleaze, which are not altogether mutually exclusive. I think Marc has great stage presence. He's only eccentric enough to still be obscure, kind of a muted Mick Jagger, and he draws in the whole crowd.”

”I enjoyed the show thoroughly, as well as the company. I don't know your fan base situation but you should be packing them in. You guys have a great band, and you go through the whole set seemingly effortless, and that makes it look like you're just having fun on stage. People dig that; I do.”

Until next time,

vee.
