DEATH HUNTER

BIOGRAFIA EN ESPAÑOL:



DEATH HUNTER es una banda colombiana de Death Metal Progresivo radicada en Bogotá. La banda ha trabajado por posicionarse en la escena musical como una buena propuesta de metal colombiano con la intención de expandir los horizontes del género, y de paso darle un giro a la imagen negativa del país en el exterior con su música y actitud. El sonido de Death Hunter, que ya puede ser escuchado en su primer EP, es una confluencia de sonidos clásicos de Death Metal melódico con influencias que van desde lo progresivo hasta el thrash metal, generando así un estilo único e innovador. Las letras del grupo se inspiran en su ira y desprecio hacia el mundo y su sistema, y todos sus males como la hipocresía y la arrogancia. El nombre del grupo está inspirado en el ex baterista y sobretodo amigo de la banda que falleció pero inspiró a los demás a continuar con la música a pesar del golpe que habían recibido como banda y como personas. Los fundadores de la banda fueron Luis Jorge Saldarriaga (voz y guitarra) y Felipe Mejía (guitarra), junto a un amigo de ambos quien tocaba el bajo y Daniel Ibarra como baterista. Tras la desafortunada muerte de Daniel la banda se desintegró, dejando solos a Felipe y Luis Jorge, quienes sin embargo decidieron continuar con la banda con nuevos integrantes. Se unieron al proyecto Juan Sebastián Espinosa (Culis) en el bajo,

Miguel Zuluaga en los teclados y Daniel Rodríguez en la batería, consolidando así la formación de Death Hunter. La banda continúa con el trabajo duro de todos sus integrantes, y para homenajear a su amigo e inspiración utilizaron una de sus composiciones y la titularon "Ibarra".



DEATH HUNTER se encuentra actualmente preparando una gira en varias ciudades del país para promocionar el EP homónimo.

DEATH HUNTER is a Colombian Progressive Death Metal band located in Bogotá. The band has worked hard to position its work in the musical scene as a good alternative of Colombian metal with the intention of expanding the genre's horizons, and in the process giving a twist to the country's negative exterior image, with their music and attitude. The band's sound, wich can already be heard in their first EP, is a confluence of classical Melodic Death Metal sounds with influences from progressive to Thrash Metal, creating in this way a unique and innovating style. The band's lyrics are inspired on their rage and hatred towards the world, the system; and all its evils such as hypocrisy and arrogance. The name Death Hunter was inspired on the band's former drum player, but most importantly, their friend who passed away but inspired the other members to continue with their music even after the blow that they had suffered as a band and as human beings. The band was started by Luis Jorge

Saldarriaga (vocals & guitar) and Felipe Mejía (guitar), along with a friend of theirs playing bass and Daniel Ibarra at drums. After Daniel’s unfortunate Death, the band was split, leaving Felipe and Luis Jorge alone. They decided to carry on with the band with new members. The project was joined by Juan Sebastian Espinosa playing bass (Culis), Miguel Zuluaga in keyboards and Daniel Rodríguez at the drums, consolidating the actual line - up. The band continues with the hard work from all its members, and as a tribute to their close friend and inspiration they used one of his compositions and named it

"Ibarra".



DEATH HUNTER is currently preparing for a tour in various Colombian cities to promote their self – titled EP.
