A realization of love and belief in music can be a defining moment for everyone in this day and age. As young men in 2003, Vince, Matt, and Daniel would define one such realization when forming Dear Life. Once they filled out the lineup with like-minded Kevin and Mike in 2004, Dear Life was born and emerged into an outfit intent on putting their hometown of Hacienda Heights on the map- along with a scene and sound of their own.

Blending subtle textures and severe devastation – their use of dynamic arrangements breathe a vitality into Dear Life’s signature style of hardcore, metal, and rock. Coupling a diverse use of breakdowns- progressive timing and blending rhythms, Dear Life’s songs are all structured around an intelligent and sincere vocal direction. Using the drums as a solid, skeletal structure and explosive musicianship, Dear Life have grown rapidly to be a force to contend with in the hardcore scene.

The goal of making meaningful music and carrying a message has kept this Californian quintet very busy in recent years. A focused ambition is evident in each song they write, every show they play, and each new fan that hears the truth in a Dear Life song.

“I believe the constant underlying theme in our music is sincerity,” says Vince. Growing up with music has allowed a unique voice to be found and gives light to the blending of a truly signature sound, “The music we write is a fusion of all the different styles of music that we listen to and love. All we try to do is be honest with our music. We play music that we know we would love listening to. Everything we are and everything we stand for is the complete truth and we want everyone to feel like they know us.”

The forthcoming debut effort “Framework” is an attempt to take hold of the structural connection between one’s character and the events that shape a person’s identity. Dear Life has written a soundtrack to that sort of development, giving them a solid direction, unique style and helping to find sincerity in a worthy goal. With the world at their feet and no limit in sight- Dear Life is set on building the world around them into someplace they truly want to live.

“We’ll keep building until we break the sky…”- Framework, Dear Life.
