In nature, the "Dear Enemy" effect occurs when powerful rivals agree to cooperate for the greater good rather than slug it out. That phenomenon happens all too rarely in the ultra-competitive music world, but great things can happen when it does, and Atlanta's Dear Enemy is proof.

Dear Enemy formed in early 2005 from the ashes of some of Atlanta's best-known local groups. They were motivated by a single desire: to completely eliminate egos and distractions, and make the hardest, most direct music they can, with the broadest possible appeal.

In 2006, Dear Enemy caught the ear of Corey Lowery, a producer born of a lifelong career in music. The relationship blossomed quickly and the band knew they had found someone who believed in what they were doing as much as they did. The magic that ensued during the production and recording of Dear Enemy's 2006 EP, "Walking Past Yesterday," created a series of ripples in the Southeast music scene selling over 3500 copies. Dear Enemy and Lowery followed up the success of their 2006 EP with their 2008 full-length album, "Believe The Rumors," which is comprised of eleven songs that showcase the diversity of this ever-growing quintet. This disc also included a DVD which chronicled the recording process of "Believe The Rumors" as well as the rigorous touring schedule that had garnered Dear Enemy recognition as one of the hardest working bands around. With the help of the Internet, Dear Enemy's music was spread throughout the world and has found its way on hundreds of torrent sites in addition to the online digital retailers.

Dear Enemy has shared the stage with such national acts as Three Days Grace, Chevelle, Alterbridge, Dark New Day, Red, Nonpoint, Egypt Central, Hoobastank, Hurt and more including an east-coast tour with fellow Atlantans, Sevendust and a nationwide tour with Taproot. They continue to make waves reaching fans all over the world with their unique promotional techniques, their persistance, and their overdriven work ethic. It doesn't hurt that the band is known as one of the most approachable in the scene. The future looks bright for this powerhouse quintet and the sky is the limit to what they can do with their hard hitting riffs, memorable vocal melodies and undeniable live show.

Now on the weight of their current EP, "Words of the Wicked," which was also produced by Corey Lowery, Dear Enemy's popularity grows exponentially and has shot them into a whole new level primed for the big leagues. With rigourous touring and unrelenting promotion, it will not be long before this hard-hitting band becomes a household name.
