ABOUT: Dear Daystar is a music project of Jen Dearwood and friends. Recording occurs in Jen's house, which makes it convenient to grab a sibling or two for more vocals, extra tambourines, a critiquing pair of ears, or just to have some lemonade with. Cheerie!
With the release of My Heart | Your Shield (2008), Dear Daystar begins a journey with you to explore the art and history of the human heart. The band brings to life images and stories drawn from a wide range of influences, from medieval epic poems to Victorian novels, to the latest films and music. What results is a concoction of melodramatic ballads, piano rock, acoustic, soundtrack, and quirky folk. Attached to each song are lyrics with equally diverse topics that range from force-fitting social glass slippers to donning wax wings in search of the ideals of the medical profession. Dear Daystar pulls contemporary issues and classic themes into a new blend of music and serves it up as an intriguing remedy for "welded eyes", reminding us all to live and breathe with history at heart and the future in mind.
