For Those About To Rock

A hip hop update of the best in classic rock

Taking mash-ups and remixes a step further, Deaf In the Family has updated classic rock greats with expert hip-hop production and top notch emceeing, resulting in a sound with undeniable universal appeal. A Brooklyn-based group consisting of lead mc Scavone (formerly of Makin Records) and production team The Resource (The Last Emperor, Saigon), Deaf in The Family came together to create For Those About to Rock an art project gone horribly right.

With tracks from The Clash, The Who, David Bowie, The Eagles, and ELO and guest features from family members Doujah Raze, Bad Seed and Pumpkinhead (an unofficial Makin Records reunion), Texas up and comer Bavu Blakes, The Turntable Anihilists, Substantial, and many more, theres a track for everyone, from indie rockers to hip hop heads to your Mom.

After engineering numerous major label and independent releases, DJ Sae One of The Resource begun his own project, enlisting many of the talented artists he had met along the way. "I wanted to bring all the great talent I knew together for the sake of music. I made sure that all of the emcees used the words and the ideas from the original songs in their compositions. On our end, we wanted to make sure we paid respect to the songs musically."

How could this all be possible? Was Neil Young in the studio? Were any house pets harmed in the making of this record? Well, nobody hurt any kittens. This is a promotional release that will be available for free download on the Deaf In The Family website. (www.deafinthefamily.com). DITF is trying to make good use of P2P networks, blogs, and good ol word of mouth to circumvent the system and share these great songs with a new generation. For Those About To Rock is destined to be an underground classic.

Right now, Deaf In The Family is at work on a full-length release for Scavone, a new studio, and the answer to how to grill the perfect steak.

"I just go where the guitar takes me." Angus Young
