Daryl M. Burnett

Daryl’s love for acappella music started at a very young age. Raised in worship service singing acappella music, he gained a great love and appreciation for this style of music. He started singing acappella with his (2) brothers and (2) sisters when he was just in his primary years. With 5 children in the family they each sung a different voice part. It was something his parents taught them. It soon became a passion for Daryl and the rest is history.
Daryl M. Burnett is a native of Dallas, TX. He was born in 1975 to Harold and Willie Eva Burnett. Daryl has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He and his twin sisters are next to the youngest. He sung in choruses at worship services at a young age and at school. When he entered Jr. High School he started singing with the well known choir Dallas Citywide Youth Chorus under the direction of his father, Harold Burnett Jr. He also sung in choruses in Jr. High and Sr. High and won several awards for his singing.
What makes Daryl’s music experience so enjoyable to the listener is his love for and appreciation for all kinds of music. From classical and jazz to R&B and gospel, he enjoys it all. Daryl says “I appreciate all kinds of music and combine them to make my own style. To say that you just love one particular genre of music really puts you at a disadvantage. Listening to several kinds really expands your knowledge and your skill level. Acappella music especially is difficult to do because you only have the human voice to depend on. As I listen to instrumental music I get ideas and styles that I can use when I write songs.” He then went to Southwestern Christian College, a school known to produce outstanding singers. There he worked in the studio and learned the art of recording from his instructor Mr. Graham. He was also taught vocal discipline from Ms. Veronica E.Williams and other grade school teachers.
Later on in life Daryl moved to Tennessee. There he was surrounded by several outstanding musicians and singers. He first did an intern with ACAPPELLA, a well known quartet. He then sung with the Gospel Harmonizers, Nashville Youth Chorus and six member male acappella group Nu Image. Nu Image even went on to Showtime at the Apollo and did an outstanding job. He then went on to sing with the world renowned group Straight Company.
His first project is entitled “Walk With Me!” It was produced by Daryl himself. The CD has a wide variety of styles! There is Spiritual, jazz, choral, praise and worship and much more. No matter what kind of music you like, you will find your song on the CD. It has several originals and some unbelievable arrangements I know you will enjoy! It is a gospel/praise and worship CD so if you are looking for inspiration and encouragement you will find it!
