As the son of the late singer David Ruffin, the legendary former lead singer of the Temptations, David Ruffin Jr. was born and grew up with many preconceived expectations and comparisons. This on it's self would be a difficult task for anyone to handle, but David Jr, a native of Motown-Detroit has risen to the task more than a few times, and is always striving for improvement. Musically, creatively, spiritually and mentally!
David Ruffin Jr. was born in Detroit Michigan. He showed his talent in August 1991, with Marvin Junior Jr., where they collaborated with Curtis Mayfeild Jr and T. Green (of the Dramatics) and created a song titled, "With This Name". Before all of this, many had there doubts, they thought he might just be "the little boy played around his father's knees". But when they hear his son's voice, it does become pleasantly obvious that he does his best to continue the RUFFIN Soul. As of 09, he has 15 songs ready and 22 independent recordings prepared over the last four years, (twelve in the last 9 months) and came up with some new HEAT.
In addition to singing, David Ruffin Jr. also finds fun in acting as well. He was appeared as a lead and sang in the national hit stage plays, "All Men Can't Be Dogs" (2004-05) and "P.M.S. - Power, Money and Sex" (2004). The entire production has received raved reviews for their collective work in the play. Also enjoy and always seeking voice over opportunities for animation and commercial projects.
In the past years, highly touted music publications such as The Rolling Stone, The Source and Rap Pages have labeled him as "talented and is up-and-coming". A Detroit News Publication said "Now David is well prepared to further elevate the Ruffin name in the entertainment world. As well as add to the history of not just urban music, but the history of music as a Whole"
