Styles broken, a voice heard, music industry changed! This head-turner born in Scottsdale, Arizona is full of energy and it shows in every aspect of his life. David Benjamin is a hint of bitter with the delicious taste of sweet, and this combination has embellished his own creative image that follows wherever he goes.
David got his first taste of the singing bug when he performed in the Super Bowl XXX halftime show with Diana Ross and was invited to sing for a five-state honor choir in Pasadena, Ca., where he took home the Top Award. David was still confused as to where this would take him, but he knew one thing. music was the outlet to help him escape, to breath. When I just sat down, relaxed, and listened to my favorite music, everything seemed so small. David's musical career took the next step when he sang lead vocals for a duet called S.O.S (Sink or Swim). This was the kind of attention David yearned for. He began writing and referencing vocals for other local talent, which honed his skills. Soon he learned to draw from those experiences that were so intimidating at the time, allowing his creativity to manifest in the music he envisioned. David's sound has been influenced by many great artists such as Joe, and the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. "I'm always learning, always developing, why not learn from the best in the biz and strive to be better?"
After moving to Omaha, Nebraska he built a relationship with the local Top 40 radio station which helped him get his foot in the door. His talents were utilized for musical imaging on the morning drive radio program @ KQCH Channel 94.1. His knowledge for great music followed him to the recording studio where he recorded the smash hit "Girltalk," produced by Peter Bjorklund who has worked with ATEENS and several other major acts. David just loves the business side of things and self promoted his single to gain exposure on over a dozen radio stations in the USA including KRBE (Houston). While working on his solo project he also teamed up with the upcoming 18 year old phenomenon Cory Bold and fellow producer Brian Kennedy, who together have worked with Omarion, Marques Houston, Young Joc, Ciara, and Bow Wow. He entertained thousands with his captivating performances with Universal recording artist JoJo, as well as Xzibit, Yonnie, Jordan Knight, and Skye Sweetnam. You can catch David in commercials and on television as he had worked on the hit drama "The O.C.," and with NIKE along side Steve Young, Matt Leinart, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Brian Urlacher. These most recent events have led David along the path of the group VyBe, who were in need of an additional member. After seeing what a tight nit group they were, he gladly accepted the invite. With support from major players Gary Baker (BSB, All 4 One, 98 Degrees), Scott Storch (Beyonce, Dr. Dre, Christina Aguilera, 50 cent), and several other musical geniuses, VyBe has unlimited potential worldwide!
With rhythm in his blood and an uncontestable hot look; he's surrendered everything he has obtained in this life for a picture of perfection and the sound of great music. Born in the 80s, developed through the 90s, refined in 08, David Benjamin and VyBe are destined for greatness.
