DAVE MORRIS

DAVE MORRIS came from the gritty, violent streets of Bedford Stuyvesant (Bed-Stuy) Brooklyn. He grew up in Sumner Housing projects Dave was already singing and playing piano at the age of thirteen. His true music love was based in the music of Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder and the Jackson five (to name a few). His influences were the vocal pioneers of soul music and early Hiphop pioneers. Dave has studied them intensively. They were the vocalists and songwriters that crafted what is now deemed as the The Motown sound and Philly sound etc Dave has been busy working on his second CD called "By Any Means" which will be independently released on Myspace.com and CD Baby.com Dave initially collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Easy Moe Bee, on Easy Moe Bee's debut CD on Priority Records, Odyssey 2000-Now Or Never. Now, In the midst of his new project, Dave Morris is taking a more direct stance and letting his soulful vocals lead the way. Dave opened for Nelly and the St. Lunatics when they performed at Radio City Music Hall, Constitution Hall in Washington, DC and the First Union Arena in Wilkes Barre, PA. Recently, Dave Produced a track for the Lloyd Banks album "Rotten Apple" entitled "ICEMAN" feat Young Buck, 8ball and Scarface. He also signed with Universal Music Publishing Group under the direction of music legend and icon Clarence Avant. He's currently working on songs and tracks (or beats) to be presented to Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Lloyd Banks and 50 Cent just to name a few. "Today they call it the music business and with good reason. I produce, write, arrange and perform but that is not enough for me. I plan to have a say in my own future as an artist, in production work, songwriting and as a business man. I will create my own brand. If you have the talent, and the business savvy it's harder to be taken advantage of . I consider myself a student of real music.
