Far from the eyes and ears of the mainland United States on the tiny western Pacific island of Guam, four natives have wowed thousands of locals, tourists and passers by for years. Established in September 1999, Da Udda Band, otherwise known as D.U.B. was assembled from some of Guams most talented musicians and vocalists. Drawing from a variety of different influences, the band developed a unique blend of contemporary island music, infused with old school, classic rock and R&B overtones.
D.U.B has maintained a steady stream of club dates in support of their independent debut release A Day in the Life which hit the stores in October of 2003. Try Again, the first single off the CD has become a regional favorite getting airplay on Guams biggest radio stations PWR98 and I94 as well as holding the number one requested slot on Saipans PWR99 for four weeks. In recent months the band has been invited to the stations in the region for interviews and live performances. Sales of the CD have topped over 1500 in the area and have even been sold to fans as far away as Hawaii, the mainland United States and believe it or not to troops in Iraq.
Veteran Mike Rasmussen on bass has been playing since breaking in to the Guam music scene in the late 80s. Together with lead guitarist Jeff Hong-Yee and rhythm guitarist/vocalist Edgar Flores, they formed what would eventually become the rhythm section for D.U.B. A short time later vocalist Kevin Iwashita was added to front the band. D.U.B. gained popularity in Guam and the outer islands by performing a variety of cover tunes including local, Hawaiian, reggae and Top 40 hits. As their fan base increased, members of the band began introducing original material into their sets with much success.

During the four years since its inception, D.U.B. has maintained a consistent number of performances ranging from private and corporate functions to club and happy hour gigs. In addition to over 600 performances the band has opened up for numerous international and Hawaiian artists, such as UB40, World Classic Rockers (including Spencer Davis and original members of Toto, Steppenwolf and Foreigner), Maxi Priest, Cecilio & Kapono, Kapena, Baba B and B.E.T. Members of D.U.B. have also been contracted to back artists such as Big Mountain and Marty Dred.
Currently the band is writing material for their second original album which is slated for release in the first quarter of 2008. Bringing island music to the world has been the goal of D.U.B. Fans will agree, there is no party like a D.U.B party!
