One of Houston's best kept secrets Dj Gonz is out in full force rocking parties all around Houston with his incredible style of incorporating his dj battling skills to the club rocking atmosphere to create a live show like no other.



"I get bored just spinning records to the end and mixing to the next so I decided to incorporate some turntablist techniques like scratching and beat juggling to spice things up and really put my personality to the tracks I play and to showcase and wow the crowd because that’s what it's all about: Entertaining the crowd."



Dj Gonz started his career while in high school where he by chance saw a commercial that had a dj in it and had questions about it." I saw a commercial and I had no clue about what djing is and I thought it was silly seeing the dj with just one ear on the headphones and wanting to know why he did that". From that view of that commercial Dj Gonz ultimately found out the answer to that question and then discovered a whole other side of djing. It was a coworker from a Dominoes pizza spot that would give him a tape that would forever change "gonz" to "Dj Gonz"."It was the 1996 DMC battle tape of ISP vs. X-ecutioners. They were doing things with turntables that never saw before, from them on I fell in love with it and soon after I saved up money and got my set of 1200's and a mixer and the rest was history. Mastering his craft day in and day out in the his "beat dungeon" as he calls it he would constantly watch videos and listen to music that had scratching to really learn everything he could about the art of turntablism. Once believing he obtained some skills he decided to compete in dj competitions around Houston and ultimately winning battles in the process. With the battling under his belt gonz decides that he wants to rock crowds, where he soon learned that it's a whole different ball game." It was a bit different from the battling aspect; instead of taking down other djs, my goal now is to get people excited and wanting to party, so it was taking people on a emotional ride than just showcasing technical ability."



"It's the best feeling in the world when you can get a room of hundreds of people to dance there ass off to what your doing; it's the ultimate rush for me."Dj Gonz is presently doing shows around Texas and getting his name out in other states and countries showcasing his ability to combine his excellent talent of turntablism with dance music and any style of music that have made him something to talk about and getting more and more people to tune in to see what crazy thing Dj Gonz we'll do next.
