BIOGRAPHY:
Dark Haunters were born in 1999, having as a purpose to offer a symphonic and gothic kind of black metal, inspired by great bands as Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. The first line-up consists of Mirko Tuttolani (vocals), Piergiorgio Annibale and Sergio Nallira (guitars), Danilo Cantarini (bass), Riccardo Ferretti (keyboards) and Claudio Martella (drums). Dark Haunters immediately demonstrated a good attitude on live shows, and during the first year of activity they opened the show for Stormlord as the supporting band at "La Mostra dei Mostri". In the early 2002 the band entered the studio to record the demo "The Haunter of the Dark", which obtains good reviews from critics and the audience, along with positive reviews on many important webzines and fanzines such as "Metal Wave", "Metal Shock", "Holy Metal" and so on. 2002 will be a significant year for Dark Haunters, thanks to many relevant exhibitions, including the participation to the "Hatria' n 'Heavy" festival with Kurnalcool, together as the supporting band to Extrema. The next month, after the show with Extrema, the band will be headliner in the first day of "La Mostra dei Mostri Rock", which the next day will see Eldritch playing on stage. At the end of the year the band opened together with Anthenora the clinic of Mr. Nicko McBrain, Iron Maiden's drummer. In 2005, Dark Haunters begin a very prolific period of songwriting but, due to some musical differences, in the autumn of the same year the singer Mirko Tuttolani left the band, soon replaced by Emanuele "Aramor" Bizzarro which immediately gets along with the band in a very natural way. The new songs are far from the typical cliché of the metal genre, trying to add a more personal touch, with some influences from death metal and a bit of avant-garde. During 2006, together with a second wave of live shows, the band creates a self-producted EP, "Aethernal Wile", recorded at ACME Recording Studio. Soon the keyboardist Riccardo Ferretti left the band and was replaced by the young Luca "Helsior" Del Re. The reviews from magazines and webzines are great, and this encouraged the band to continue their live activity, which sees them as the supporting band of Gory Blister, Infernal Poetry and Horrid. But still, unfortunately, after a while the band loses the keyboardist Del Re and even two members of the main line up, Piergiorgio Annibale and Danilo Cantarini.
I Dark Haunters nascono ad Atri nel 1999, con l'intento di proporre un black metal gotico e sinfonico di matrice classica, traendo spunto da grandi nomi come Cradle of Filth e Dimmu Borgir. La prima formazione è composta da Mirko Tuttolani alla voce, Piergiorgio Annibale e Sergio Nallira alle chitarre, Danilo Cantarini al basso, Riccardo Ferretti alle tastiere e Claudio Martella alla batteria. I Dark Haunters riescono subito a dimostrare un'attitudine live di buon livello, nel loro primo anno di vita apriranno per gli Stormlord a "La Mostra dei Mostri". Nei primi mesi del 2002 il gruppo entra in studio per le registrazioni del demo "The Haunter of the Dark", che ottiene una buona opinione da parte di pubblico e critica e favorevoli recensioni su importanti fanzines e webzines quali "Metal Wave", "Metal Shock", "Holy Metal" e tante altre. Il 2002 sarà un grande anno per i Dark Haunters, per molte esibizioni importanti, tra cui la partecipazione all'"Hatria 'n' Heavy, con i Kurnalcool di spalla agli Extrema. Il mese successivo dopo l'esibizione con gli Extrema la band sarà headliner nella prima giornata de "La Mostra dei Mostri Rock", dove il giorno seguente suoneranno gli Eldritch. Alla fine dell'anno la band aprirà con gli Anthenora il clinic di Mr. Nicko McBrain batterista degli Iron Maiden. Nel 2005 i Dark Haunters iniziano un floreale periodo di songwriting, ma, in seguito a divergenze musicali, nell'autunno dello stesso anno il cantante Mirko Tuttolani lascia la band, rimpiazzato da Emanuele "Aramor" Bizzarro, che si stabilisce immediatamente nella band, amalgamandosi molto bene all'interno di essa. I nuovi brani composti si distaccano dai clichè classici del genere, aggiungendo un maggior tocco di personalità, più death metal e un pizzico di avant-garde. Nel corso del 2006, parallelamente a una seconda ondata di concerti, la band dà vita all'EP autoprodotto "Aethernal Wile", registrato all'Acme Recording Studio. Subito dopo il tastierista Riccardo Ferretti lascia la band, e viene rimpiazzato dal giovane Luca "Helsior" Del Re. Le recensioni su riviste e webzines sono ottime, e ciò spinge la band a continuare un'attività live, che li vede da spalla a gruppi come Gory Blister, Infernal Poetry e Horrid. Ma ciò nonostante, purtroppo la band si ritrova a perdere per strada il tastierista Del Re, e addirittura due dei membri storici, Piergiorgio Annibale e Danilo Cantarini. Ma la band non si arrende, e dà via ad una serie di audizioni che portano il tastierista Christian Di Maria,il chitarrista Valerio Pietrunti e il bassista Giuseppe Amadio a completare quella che è l'attuale formazione.
