Formerly known as the artist "Darftphunk"; Pimpsoul has been firmly putting his stamp on the scene for over ten years. The brain behind the act is Steve Jeffery, who during the last decade has headlined shows from London to Liverpool, Cornwall to Croatia and Azerbaijan to Australia.
Pimpsoul"s debut single "The One", released on Bombstrikes, received rave reviews and was supported by the likes of A-Skillz, Beat Vandals, Mooqee, Krafty Kuts, Ali B on his Kiss radio show as well as being played at almost every UK festival over the summer of 2009. Not stopping there, Pimpsoul released the funk-fuelled banger "Noggins Groove" on Ground Level, which saw Pimpsoul vocalist Claire G laying down infectious vocals over the equally infectious beats and bass. These tracks impressed all, and it wasn"t long before a call came from over the pond requesting a rework for the good time track from Martin Clancy & The Witness Protection Programme entitled 'Flat Foot' on the brand-new New York label „Seaport Music Records'. Head honcho, Mooqee at Bombstrikes HQ, could see the huge influence Pimpsoul are having on the Nufunk scene, they signed them up and made them just one of three „official" artists on the label. Pimpsoul then went on to release the epic smash "On point" which saw support from every major player from DJ Yoda to Jon H (Fort Knox 5). During the last 6 months Pimpsoul has been remixing artists from all around the globe; he recently remixed DJ Love from the US for Ali B"s label Air, German based funkmeister Basement Freaks for his Bombastic Jam imprint, Russian chill out popsters Kooqla and Australian wonder kid Nick Thayer. With a stack of releases ready to drop on Bombstrikes including a collaboration with Mooqee and his own artist E.P, which for first time in the labels history features all original productions and see"s Pimpsoul teaming up with MC Shureshock on the title track.
When he"s not in the studio you can find Pimpsoul smashing up the dance floor; and over the last 12 months Steve has played at venues and nights in the UK such as Fabric, Sugarbeat, Hong Kong Ping Pong Club, Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher, Concorde 2 and Rhythm Factory to headlining shows in Poland, Germany and Jersey. Fully armed with a crate full of his own re-edits and mash ups, Pimpsoul is always bringing you the party sound, the future is looking very bright indeed.
