Cowboy Enough for Me

If you're lookin' for the fancy version, you can check out my official bio at www.darcymazerolle.com. If you just want to shoot the shit and know the real me, this is it. You see, the professional stuff is great for industry people, but when it comes to people like you.the ones who take the time to listen to my music and care about what I have to write, then I don't mind putting things into my own words. I'm as down to earth as they come. Honesty has always been important to me, no matter what. So I don't mind sayin' to those who don't know me and think I'm more successful than what I am, I'm not.Yet! It's a crazy uphill battle with many people on your shoulders reaping the benefits of your HARD work and talent long before you ever do, but that's ok, it's all part of it. I have a pretty amazing family. I grew up with three older brothers to protect me and a small, yet feisty younger sister to keep me in line. Dad was a very hard working man and Mom worked just as hard raising 5 kids. They showed us how to live, love and look out for one another and loved us more than most people would think humanly possible. I was raised on the older country, but around the age of 6 or so, I heard my first Dwight Yoakam and Steve Earle albums. I grew up imitating Dwight for years, but was always drawn to Steve's sound and coolness. I decided at that age what I wanted to do for a living and, well, I'm still working on it. I'm a pretty straight forward guy who may not say too much if I don't know you well, but once you break the barrier, you may be looking for a way to fix it and shut me up. I tend to get like that after a drink or too as well. I've really changed my way of thinking when it comes to music, I guess a great deal due to listening and reading up on Steve Earle, but I've held back so much over the years by not writing a song or not finishing a song because it didn't sound country enough. Lately, I've written some of my best songs.very deep and warped at times, but best songs none the less, that don't sound country. Some are more traditional sounding; while some have reached way into the rock boundaries, and hell.I just wrote a bluegrass song the other day too. So there it is, a personal description of me and my music. I hope you'll all love me for who I am and my music for what it is.Music! Peace!
