let's see where do you start? With all the diversity and extensive history this artist has to offer , how do catogorize a overwhelming talent like this.Well lets start with the name, DARCUS GLORY. A name that that is hardly a typical commercial rap name right, right. Well it was design with that intent(Destiny is A Reality of Commitment Understanding and Sacrifice-Grabbing Life's Oppurtunity to Redeem Yourself),pretty deeo huh. With the overall meaning of "sacrifice" DG's story is definately one that exemplfies that .Originally a anchor member of the group TRU2LIF it was then he developed the passion to reach out beyond the typical elements of todays commericial music.Assisted by Mizery Paine another talented artist , as well as the alternate member and producer of the then up and coming group TRU2LIF.Originally from St.louis ,Mo a city synonmous with commercial artist, nationally. It would seem like an unfair comparison to focus on the region where this artist develop his unique delivery and point of veiw, but to know this city, it is definately neccesary.A city where crime and poverty over shadow the innercity and surrounding communities it would only be natural that a voice of hope would emerge.Darcus Glory commonlly reffered to as DG by those who know him well.Born the younger sibbling of twin brothers which ultimatly taught "DG" how to express him self and strive for independence. As a result a vision with a voice was created.A vision molded in the battle tested waters of the Mighty Mississippi River where some say "you either sink or swim". Well by know i guess we can safely say that DG dove head first into the game and learned his stroke. To trace the roots of DG is to find the likes of some of the best talents St.Louis has to offer.Originally embrace by Terrance Smith of Show Me Entertainment DG established a strong pressence on the 1st regionally realease of Show Me Entertainment's-Hardknox lp entitled "Show Me Love".After decent sales and a respectable street buzz DG went on to work with Jose Greer of Columbus, Oh.'s AMG managment Group where he was exposed to more regional acts such as Profetik(formely known as Kali)and A talented singer/producer by the name of Charles Travis as well as Memphis,Tn Oneway Out Records. Woth extensive work & personal relationships established leading to the realease of the well received mixtape realease 314 to the 614 realeased by another St.louis affiliation, Kanecc(E da Hustla) which further helped the buzz of the talented artist DG.with a nice street buzz DG eagar to capitolize off the buzz reunited with his former group member Mizery Paine as well as a new fresh new artist AD-OG to form the super group Second Sentury who went on to realease the smash hit single "Luv the Life" produced by the legend Orlando "Prettyboy" Watson which sold an remarkable 8500 copies independantly before the company folded at the height of the success of the group.Once again leaving DG back out on the grind.with 3years of constant studio work with numerous regional& national producers it was 2004 when DG was introduced to the talented & ambitious CEO/ Producer Darren "Denali"Hale of Az Iz Entertainment .It was there where DG was reintoduced commercially as Reign on the Az Iz Ent Foundation Cd. With a minimal promotions the cd was well recieved and embraced by the public. Leading us to now on the heals of a well packaged project. DG has once again begin setting up the follow up to a long awaited solo Debut project. With a long over due intensity and a overly anxious fanbase Darcus Glory re emerges to give us a feel good neighbor hood journey that doesn't always end with the same result (death or prison).Darcus glory is truly an alternative to the redundant commericialism we've been force to accept in modern urban music. With the moniker 1love 1life. DG truly believes he can capture the essence of the urban struggles that we face and embrace one at a time. so in the words of Darcus glory "see hip hop aint dead we just been in the studio"
